The mouse cursor disappears when in the upper quarter of the screen in the character stat display screen (the one with might, HP, etc), making it very hard to select them with the mouse, obviously.
Anyone else have the same problem?
Try increasing your Dosbox cycles (I think it's Ctrl-F12, or maybe just F12).

Thanks for the tip, but actually, it was already at max.
If I decreased it to 2000, the cursor ceased disappearing (although it flashes sometimes), but the game runs way too slow for my liking.
Putting it at a middle ground speed of 8000 or 10000 made it even worse, it disappears for 3/4 of the screen.
But thanks for confirming that it's a cursor refresh bug related to cycles
The best balance I've found between acceptable gaming speed and visible cursor was cycles=7500
This was with the dosboxMM4-5.conf file that comes with the game. (and the default in there is "max")
But since every computer's speed is different, your mileage may vary.

I noticed the same issue.
I tried changing the cycles setting to 7500, and that fixes the disappearing, but it makes the cursor blink constantly all the time (even outside of menus) which is incredibly annoying, more so than the disappearing. Guess I'll have to live with the disappearing cursor, I've just been using the keyboard shortcuts for menus instead so I don't need to click places where it disappears.

By any chance do you have frame skipping turned on?

WizardStan: By any chance do you have frame skipping turned on?

It's set to 0 for all of my conf files for all of my games, no exception
This issue was present in DOS, also.. The faster the computer the worse the issue. So it's a problem with the game, not the emulator.
Funny thing is, Might and Magic III doesn't have the issue. Must have been introduced when they enhanced the graphics engine for World of Xeen.
I'm struggling with the same problem. Any ideas how to fix it?
I had this issue. I believe I changed the render mode from ddraw to overlay to fix it, (surface and others might work as well). I changed from windowed to fullscreen. Also, you can use the arrow keys + enter to do the same as clicking on a stat.
28000 cycles upwards should fix the problem.
