I have the gog version of Might and Magic 7 and for most of the game it has been working fine, however 6 times now I have entered the pit through the door in the hall of the pit and within a minute or two the game hangs. After alt tabbing out of the program I see an error message saying "Might and Magic has detected an internal error and will be forced to close. Would you like us to autosave your game before closing?" No causes the game to exit normally, yes causes the game to crash and doesn't save anyway.

Has anyone else ran into this problem? I haven't been running in compatibility modes since up to now I haven't needed to. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. I'm on the light side so everything goes hostile as soon as I enter, not sure if that has something to do with it.

Install GrayFace patch it fixes most crushing bugs and increase the stability of the game. You don't have to use any further tweaks like mouse+keyboard control (it's optional)
It seems to be working better with Grayface. Might and Magic 6 was pretty stable without it and 7 was good up to this point so was thinking it was one of those nice to have things rather than potentially necessary. Thanks for the help.
