So I finally got around to trying MM9 out from GOG. I was kind of excited because I haven't been able to play MM9 on a new computer as of late since it just crashes windows whenever I try loading it.

I was pleasantly surprized when GOG's copy loaded without any problems. I got into the actual game and it works but there is 1 REALLY annoying bug. Whenever I switch screens; like open the menu, the inventory, or the party formation screen the music keeps playing but the game and controls go completely unresponsive for 40~90 seconds. It's like the game froze and pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE does nothing during this this period. Then after a minute or so it loads the screen just fine and acts like nothing happened... Until you exit that screen to return to the game, then you gotta wait another 40~90 seconds.

Has anyone had this problem and has anyone found a fix for it?

I think there was some kind of hacked dll file that fixes this problem. Don't remember where if was though. Try googling.
There is fix at TELP tavern forums.I can't post the link as GOG won;t let me
