Crimmers: Is there any way we can use this patch but have it _not_ fix the meteor shower and starburst distance bugs? I remember when I played this game over 10 years ago, I used to run around dragonsands nuking everything, and it was a lot o fun! For nostalgic reasons I'd still like to do that, but I still want to be able to remap keyboard keys. It'd be great if there was a mm6.ini flag that toggled the fix.
I second this. I wanted to start a DDSS party, and the two spells really make a diference :/
Hi guys, need some help here.

After updating the patch, the file versoin of mm6.exe still says 1.0.0.1

MM6patch.dll came out and ini file after i updated but the exe is like that. Is it correct?

Yes, this is normal, this patch doesn't increase the version number.

Figured this out.
Add the following to the mm6.ini file:

[Disable]
Hook76=1

Cheers!
Hello,
I downloaded patch 1.11.2 and it found the install-directory where M&M6 is installed automatically and also installed itself there.

Then I tried to test if the patch was applied correctly by entering a building and exiting it.

If I assume correctly, I should be facing away from the door when the patch has been correctly applied?
Sadly, when I exit a building, I am facing the door in the angle in which I looked at it before entering, so I assume that the patch hasn´t been applied correctly...
Can anyone advise on this and any other ways to test if the patch has been applied correctly?
Thanks in advance.

For might and magic 6-8, the default is to leave facing away from the door. The patch allows you to turn it off in might and magic vi, and default for the patch is that it is turned off.

If you want to face away from the door in mm6, you have to go into the mm6.ini file, and find the line that says "flip on exit=0". Set it to one. You will now leave the building facing the opposite of how you went in.
I'm about the end of my wits.
Having done several installs of MM6 in different Wine wrappers, I can't seem to shake this bug;
About 50% of the time when I try to get out of turnbased mode, it will instantly go back into it. After some experimenting I have found that pretty much all keystrokes tend to get registered twice. Hitting space near a fountain will usually give +10 hp instead of +5. Hitting 'a' will usually result in two characters acting in rapid succession. These things make the game near unplayable :/

After doing about 10 different installs with different Wine engines I have been able to narrow the bug down not to the emulation but to the install of Grayface 1.11.2. I can't seem to find older versions of Grayface patches to test nor can I find the Hook# to disable whatever fix is causing this.

Hopefully someone has encountered the same and was able to get around it, either Wine or Grayface related.

[edit] Two hours of testing and fiddling later, it looks like I have found it.
Disabling Hook110 does the trick. Looking at the source, this seems to be either a fix for 'Window Procedure', or one of the Strafing Rounding Fixes.

If anyone else happens to run into this particular problem, adding the following to mm6.ini will probably fix it for you:

[Disable]
Hook110=1
