Hey, I'm back after being away from this game for some time.

So another question: What exactly does the spell Nature's Gate do, and how useful is it?

Thanks

The answer is a minor spoiler.

****** SPOILER *******
You cast Nature's Gate on day 93 and it takes you to the center of the nuclear zone where you will receive the Star Burst spell (Sorcerer spell 9-3). I don't remember precisely what happens if you cast the spell on any other day. Either it doesn't work, or it still teleports you there but you die instantly from nuclear radiation. In any case, the point is, Nature's Gate is used solely to get access to another spell.
****** END SPOILER ******

Cool, thanks. So the question is, what's the non-spoilerish way to get this info? I suppose a message in some place? Where can I find it?

Unfortunately, I don't remember. Like many clues in the game, there's probably a message on a dungeon wall somewhere, as you said.

Some beggars in Sansobar will relay the important information if you give them some money.

The Nature's Gate spell is a cheap way to get out of a tight spot. If you are surrounded by enemies (due to a teleport or jump spell going over too-tough enemies and then your wizard dies), you can cast Nature's Gate to go to a random place and get out of the tough situation.

Thanks both.
This is going slower than I thought it would. Although really great, I just can't get immersed in this game...

Anyway, Can anyone explain how backstab/assasination works. My thief sometimes does it, but most often it's just a normal attack. Is it random? The manual says "first attack on an enemy". But like I said it doesn't always work. Also, what's the extra damage? Does assasinate kill outright, like its name would suggest?

Thanks,
