Hi all -

I have been playing MM1 for a while now and can handle many strong monsters (finally). However, there are certain monsters (mostly bosses and stuff) who are able to finish of any character in one go. Mostly there character is dead, which I can raise. Sometimes they even erradicate a party member. Raising them will cost 1 endurance each time so I don't really want that - and that is only an option if I even survive the fight (which I mostly don't). Any tips on how to protect against this? Is there an option to protect against these attacks?
Also - why does Divine Intervention fail so often? It doesn't get rid of the 'dead' condition either, contrary to what the manual claims.

I think the best you can do is to use a combination of the spells Leather Skin (1-5), Psychic Protection (4-6) and Protection from Magic (6-4) from the sorceror and Protection from Elements (7-3) from the cleric. All the spells last the whole day, so you only have to use them once after each rest.
When it comes to combat, try to kill the most dangerous foes (the ones that will instantly kill or erradicate you) first. Don't think there's anything else you can do.

Edit: I think Divine Intervention only works once in each battle (and keep in mind that your cleric will age five years everytime you use that spell).

Thank you! I have to check my cleric's age now :P
Fortunately, there are ways within the game to reduce one's age and even to raise one's stats (to a certain maximum - different for each stat).

Yeah I'm slowly finding those places and know of the rejuvenate spell. Each stat can only be raised once, right?
There is a way to become "worthy" again which allows you to hit the stat bumps another time (and this can also be repeated). That said, there is a stat cap for each stat gain, some are about 25, some 40. This could allow you to regain an infinite amount of lost endurance. I'll give you one tip. If you ever do max out your stats this way. You may need to remove stat bonus equipment to take advantage again. If say your equipment gives +5 Might, this counts against you at the cap, so you would not gain a bonus. Take the equipment off, hit the boost, put the equipment back on and the equipment now will give you over-the-top stats (like it should).

Cool thanks for that! I'll try to revisit these places soon. I'm getting quite experienced so if its level related...
It's location related, its a big world, so you might not have run across it yet.
