I'm running windows 7 x64, and MM9 won't run. It installed without issue, I've rebooted several times. Whenever I run lithtech.exe, or launch from mm9.exe, it opens a tiny window, then says not responding and shuts down. I've tried ticking the boxes for the three disable options and am running as administrator. Any ideas?

First of all, make sure all components of DirectX9 are present. Install this:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
It will complete your system if necessary.

Also try lowering your desktop resolution to 1024x768 and see if it starts. Another user reported, he got it running that way.

Tried both, no dice.
Let's sort out other standard problems:
- Update your graphics drivers. (which one do you use btw?)
- Deactivate anti-virus/security software (go off-line before, if you feel unsafe)
- Don't install the game into Program Files but into a custom folder like C:\gog.com\

Even when you're using an Administrator account, try right-clicking lithtech.exe => Run as ...

Try setting compatibility mode for Windows XP (right-click lithtech.exe => Properties => Compatibility tab); Then start the game with lithtech.exe;
Graphics drivers were up to date (GeForce 555M), and XP compat didn't work. On a whim, I set compat to Windows 7, and now it works running as administrator manually. Not sure why I have to set Windows 7 into Windows 7 compatibility mode, but hey, it works. Thanks for walking me through the steps I missed.
