I have to strongly contest this absurd idea that M&M 6 is somehow the better game between these two. M&M 7 is far superior in terms of the following:

*Better dungeons - Not as big, no but I do not consider 'Big and full of boring nonsense' to be a good thing so MM6 loses this one IMO.

* FAR better character creation and development - Not only do we at least get 3 nonhuman races to play with but also a few new classes, better skill system, etc.

* Arcomage - 'Nuff said. You will be firing up M&M7 at times just to play this card game alone!

* More engaging story, quests, 'choices and consequences' type stuff, etc. I do not care about story in RPGs myself(I get more enjoyment out of many roguelike games than games like Planescape: Torment) but if there is going to be one then keep it tight and not boring or annoying.

But don't take my word for it. Go borrow a copy of M&M 7 and go play it. Then go check out 6. I think a lot of people get taken prisoner by this idea that the game they happened to play first is always the best(we see this in movie debates a lot too...where someone will say the original 1930s "King Kong" is better than both remakes for no reason other than it being the first, ignoring all the bad acting, scripting and poor direction of the original).
