hy folks,
im starting the mm series with mm3 and id like to ask what i have to keep in mind
when i create my group?
are there some classes i definitely need or is there a good combination for beginners or
some other useful hints?
cheers
In my opinion, two fighter characters and two spell casters are a good combination for beginners. Knights, Barbarians, and Ninjas make good fighters. Clerics and sorcerers are good spell casters, although you could also get by with paladins and archers. I'd suggest Ranger for the Water Walk spell.
Yeah, I generally agree with that. I'll usually throw a ranger in the mix in substitute of a fighter. Just depends on your preference. Making sure you're party is balanced is the most important things. You want to be have a diverse group that complement each other well. Makes the early game much easier on you.
ok now i startes with mm4 instead of 3.
knight, paladin, sorcerer, cleric, ranger and ninja. hope that works.
is it normal that your new created characters start with no equipment at all?
is there a way maybe to take the equipment of the beginning group And give it to my party?

Your party looks good. It is normal to start with no equipment at all when creating custom characters. I think that you can take the equipment from the pre-made characters... try signing in at the inn, then choosing a party that is half your guys and half pre-made guys. Switch all the equipment off the pre-made guys to your guys, then repeat with the other pre-made characters.

This technique definitely works in MM1 and MM2, and I think it does for Xeen as well but I haven't played in a very long time so I don't remember for sure. Can someone confirm?

It works in WoX too.

If you don't keep a pregenerated character you'll have to spend an extra day for an extra inn visit to transfer the items. I recommend having the pregenerated characters drink before you delete them so you get some hints in the tavern until they're drunk.

You can start the game without transferring items if you want to keep the in game time low, the starting town is relatively easy and you'll find better equipment quite soon.
It doesn't really matter*). Just make sure you have six different classes, an equal mix of alignments (2 good, 2 neutral, 2 evil), at least one character for each school of magic (sorcerer/archer, paladin/cleric, druid/ranger) and one character who can break locks (rogue/ninja).

*) It only really matters in the beginning, and the beginning gets extremely easy as soon as you realize that you *don't* need to clean up Fountain Head before venturing out. It is in fact much easier to leave the town immediately, destroy the Orc and the Goblin lair nearby, then return, advance as many levels as you can afford and only then start cleaning up Fountain Head. The rest of the game is pretty easy - if you keep getting your ass kicked in some dungeon (Cyclops' Grotto, Dragon Halls, Whiteshield Castle Dungeon, Warrior's Keep...), just leave it until later.
Starting alignment is unimportant (6 good aligned characters work well), it only affects the XP the characters get for delivering artifacts. There's a sidequest in MM3 which requires having at least one male party member and having more speeds it up.

A balanced MM3 or WoX party should have at least:
- 1 mage or archer for mage spells
- 1 cleric or paladin for cleric spells
- 1 druid or ranger for druid spells
- 1 robber or ninja for opening chests
- 1 barbarian for physical combat

But weaker parties work too.
If you want to be able to use all armor you need a knight or paladin in the party.

i still dont understand how to swap stuff.i can remove one characters stuff, but it doesnt appear for the others to equip?
Enter the inventory, highlight the item you want to trade then press the key for the target character or click on his/her face.
ok, dumb question.i figured it out myself.
i think i got it now
sorry, need your help again.
im stuck in ellingers tower in castleview, i looked in some guides but couldnt find help.
i talked to the mirror and took the second answer,
on 2. floor i got the books etc, made the fires go away,
now on 3. and 4. floor i dont know what to do.i can go to the top of the tower but i read that ellinger is on 4. behind some door.
on 3. or 4. floor there are two buttons, but pushing them doesnt seem to work.
help!
The doors which are opened by the buttons close when you enter a certain square so use the jump spell.
