So, I'm near the end of the Dark Path of the game. I need to talk to the king (avoiding spoilers) in Castle Gloaming. Except, all the guards attack me when I'm inside. Apparently last time I accidentally aggro'd the guards somehow, so now they're all attacking me. The last time I visited the castle was a while ago, so I have no idea what happened and can't go back as I don't have an old enough save. Now, the guards attacking me isn't really the problem, it's that the door to the throne room is now locked due to my accidentally aggroing everyone.

So! Is there any way of continuing the story now or am I really stuck for good? :/

Thanks.

I had this problem before, but its been so long ago I can't remember how I fixed it. Here are a couple of suggestions:

1. Before you enter the castle, cast Invisibility spell. I think they will be friendly this way and you can get to the door.

2. You might have to go jail/pay your fines. I think fines can be paid at the City Counsel Building.

3. Might just have to wait a while. I mean in game time. Save your game and do things that pass a long amount of time like train/level up, do side quests, or just rest a lot.

Give these a try, I'm not 100 percent sure they will work.

Tried 1, I totally forgot about fines, I'll go try that. Thanks.
Okay, so more weirdness. I payed off my fines (amounted to 2400 gold), but I still get attacked in Castle Gloaming. :/

EDIT: Got it. Letting them kill me has appeared to fix it.

I had this problem long time ago, but did not remember the solution. Now we know it for sure, thanks :)
I would've been very, very mad if this was unfixable. I'm two quests away from beating the game. ;_; I need to make some money first though, I have like 11 levels in reserve on my Knight, I just need the money to train him.
Every map restores after a certain amount of time. That's mostly 2 years, some maps have only 6 months. I think if you had waited for these 2 years to pass by, Castle Gloaming would've been restored (and also the mood of the men within).

The only dungeon that isn't restored is Castle Harmondy, after you beat the goblins and rats.
