Yesterday I bought all three metal gear games. Metal gear and Metal gear solid are working well. Except metal gear solid 2. When I open the game, I only see a black screen. Opening it as admin or with compatible settings Windows XP won't help. I also reïnstalled the game a few times, but it didn't help.

What can I do now?

im having the same issue weird thing is, is that if i press enter it brings up a menu thats broken.

I had the same problem, but it was due to the fact that I had some game recording software running at the same time (it wasn't actively recording, just standing by). When I closed the program the game worked as it should (I think Shadow Warrior gave me the same problem as well but with MSI Afterburner instead).

i finally figured out how to make MGS2 work, basically use V's fix and put the resolution of your monitor for the fix and it works fine. just google metal gear solid 2 fix and it should be the second one from pc gaming wiki

I just installed GOG controller update (removing the previous installation and V's fix), and the game would start with a black screen. I could hear the BGM but I couldn't see anything . After using V's fix (you put the .exe file in the game's "bin" directory), set it up (if you can't save your config, make a shortcut on the desktop giving you admin rights), and VOILA!, the game works now. Hope this helps.

I have installed everything from 0, I have tried every solution, I have not had the luck that the game runs I never saw a black screen or heard a sound since what happens to me is as if the exe files did not work. This has never happened to me with a game. Its the first time.

Can confirm, closing MSI Afterburner fixed the black screen at launch for me. Sad that MSI Afterburner doesn't work for this game.
