I've encountered a problem where the game immediately exits to desktop after the opening credits and logo of Memoria shows up on the screen.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Did you set the color depth of the desktop and the game to the same level?
There seems to be a bug that leads to a crash when the color depth is different. Other then that you could try to set the game to run in windowed mode. You can set this with the configurator, the tool is stored in the game directory.

And you could update your driver for your video card if you haven't already done this. Oh and speaking of it I think the game doesn't support certain integrated graphic cards such as the Intel HD series found in the current CPU generation.

Had the same problem just now. Solved it by skipping past the animation of the Memoria logo with [ESC].

I had this problem with Deponia (I own it on Steam) and the Daedalic support said something about HD textures, which can be activated via the Visionary Congif Tool, I think.

I just got rid of that problem by undo the choice "start as administrator".
