I'm running this on Windows 10, I've tried various compatibility modes...

When I start it up, the white mouse cursor is visible over the game window if i mouse to certain areas of the screen, if i click the mouse when that cursor is visible it minises to desktop. Rendeirng the game unplayable.

Every time I do that, I see that Windows 10 is giving me the 'this is not the optimal resolution 1900xblablah' popup message in the lower right hand corner of my screen.

Furthermore, when I try to buff up the graphics in game it crashes with an OpenGL error.

Essentially, this is clearly some problem my computer is having whereby it doesn't really know what window i want to be interacting with, or something.

Thoughts?

EDIT: It is NOW crashing on startup because it says it cannot do 1600xblahblah resolution in fullscreen, and 'glide' isn't installed.

BELOW is the error text for one of the crashes

did u have a chance to overcome this problem?, I'm experiencing the same problem with cursor appearing on the screen.
I had this issue but with a different game.

I just turned off the notification for the "not optimal resolution" message box and that seemed to have fixed it.
I also have the same problem. Is there a fix for this?

I had this problem. In the game menu increase the resolution to a higher value, I used 1600x1200.

This worked for me, the problem no longer exists.

(I should add) I use compatibility settings "override high DPI scaling behaviour." Scaling performed by: Application.

Your desciption suggests addittional problems outside of my solution, GLIDE errors etc.
I wanted to provide a step by step guide as to howto fix this issue for anyone who does a search and comes on this post.
---------------------------------------

1st off tho I just want to say to Nickingb...you are wrong.

raising the resolution ingame is not a viable solution to the problem. infact it can render the game impossible to launch especially if youre on an older rig with a monitor that does not support the higher resolutions.

---------------------------------------

Now for my guide.

Step 1: Click Start
Step 2: Open Settings and if you cant find it in the Start menu then just do a simple search for it
Step 3: Click System in the Settings menu
Step 4: in the search box of that menu type and search for Game bar settings
Step 5: Change its setting from being on to off and I would recommend unchecking the option for "Open Game bar using this button on a controller" too

---------------------------------------

And that is how you get rid of the desktop mouse displaying ingame and messing your gameplay up
