Alright.

So I pick up the game, looks nice, robust for a economic sim game. First, it refuses to start, but I fix that by going into the preferences and setting up a compatibility mode start up

Then I keep getting issues where it crashes when I try to adjust the resolution, the crashes complaining that there is something wrong with the graphics driver. So I don't bother with that and decide to let it run in its default resolution.

But then as if that was not bad enough it crashes AGAIN, this time when the music finishes running and is just about to loop over again, this time the crash having to do with the sound driver, it says.

Anyone having similar problems?

not to sure if you would call it a similar problem but i cant even play the game, every time i try to run the game i get a red box in the top left of my screen say about 20% of the screen and the rest blank, i can hear the music but cannot play the game,
Sorry to hear that. X_x

Sounds like your having a worse time of it then I am.
Well, what graphics cards are you running? It might be a graphics card that is having an issue.
Recent: Having the same problem, cant start - a GeForce GT640 should be able to have no problem...

I'm having the same problem on a Geforce card (GTX 980). Any advice?
Try this:

right-click on Locomotion's shortcut or the EXE itself, and under the Compatibility tab, check Disable Visual Themes and Disable Desktop Composition. Compatibility mode for WinXP SP3 may also help.
