hey i see on the store front page that gog connect people can claim a free copy of limbo.?

however when i click on that link its not showing it available as a connect game, furthermore if i add it to my cart it still wants to charge me the $1.99. isnt a bad price at all, but free would be even better.

also, none of my steam games are showing up in gog connect, even though its showing my acounts are linked.

am i missing something? should i have waited for this black friday sale to link my steam account or something?

.

It's a misunderstanding because of GOG's ambiguous wording, which puzzled many here today. You actually have to own Limbo on Steam and when you do, you can activate the game on GOG as well via GOG connect until January 1, 10:59 PM UTC. There is no real freebie involved, sorry.

ah. i shoulda known better. thanks for clarifying.

at this point im not real sure what the point of connect is, other than to import titles over to play them offline. none of my steam games are compatible though so i guess its going to take time.

You're welcome. GOG Connect is simply an instrument to promote GOG to Steam users. It's for expanding GOG's user base, while fostering customer loyalty by giving gifts to people already using both platforms. It might even be a cheap way of doing so. If publishers are okay with it, GOG will have to pay no fee for providing these games and since people who already own a game on Steam are rather unlikely to buy it a second time on GOG (except for all the GOG enthusiast in the forum of course ;-), there's also no loss of profit.
I don't know why, but LIMBO is not recognized as owned on Steam :(. Can't claim it on GOG Connect even I have it on Steam for a long time. Any advice?

I don't use Connect, but others reported that after several refreshes it did eventually work.
