So I just tried to launch "Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards" and as soon as I launch the game I get a black screen and my computer doesn't respond to any kind of input. CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't work. ALT+F4, doesn't work, nothing works. The only option I have is to power off the computer.

I also tried the VGA version but the same thing happened so I guess it could be a problem with Scummvm.

Any ideas of what could be the issue?

I'm on windows 7 64-bit

This could be a graphic card's driver issue in combination with fullscreen. (=> Check for updated drivers)
Try if the game runs in windowed mode.
- Go to the game's installation folder (.\Leisure Suit Larry\Leisure Suit Larry 1\ or \Leisure Suit Larry\Leisure Suit Larry 1 - VGA\ )
- Open scummvm.ini with any text editor.
- Set windowed mode by editing:
fullscreen=false
- Save and try starting the game.

If it runs now, but doesn't in fullscreen, your drivers might have problems with the game's small resolution.
Try expanding it by setting a graphics scaler within ScummVM.
- Open scummvm.ini again
- In the [scummvm] section add the following line
gfx_mode=3X

Thank you, DeMignon! That did the trick.
Apparently the problem was my antivirus. ScummVM was asking for permissions but since I was stuck in a non-responding fullscreen I couldn't do anything. Now that I've given it full permissions I can play in fullscreen.
You're welcome, Pardinuz! Glad it worked out.
