The Legend of Kyrandia was available in English, French, German.

Will it be the same with GOG ? =3

For now it is English only available in game.
Though there are other languages in .ini file in game's directory.

You can play the GOG version in English, French and German, but you have to modify the command line of the GOG launcher or the ScummVM.ini.

Oh, really ?

So it's like the "Atlantis: The Lost Tales" page showing that it's English only, while it's actually also French and others...

Presumably licensing issues of some kind - maybe GOG isn't allowed to officially say that certain games have other languages included.

Ok, just tested the three games, they can all be played in English (audio + text), French and German (text only).

To modify the language of the first "book", you will have to edit the "Launch Legend of Kyrandia" shortcut (right click, properties) and add "-fr" or "-de" at the end of Target textbox (in the Shortcut tab).

Examples ( "D:\Games\GOG\" being my installation path, don't copy that ) :

English (default) :
"D:\Games\GOG\Legend of Kyrandia\ScummVM\scummvm.exe" -c "D:\Games\GOG\Legend of Kyrandia\kyra1-cd.ini" kyra1-cd

French :
"D:\Games\GOG\Legend of Kyrandia\ScummVM\scummvm.exe" -c "D:\Games\GOG\Legend of Kyrandia\kyra1-cd.ini" kyra1-cd-fr

German :
"D:\Games\GOG\Legend of Kyrandia\ScummVM\scummvm.exe" -c "D:\Games\GOG\Legend of Kyrandia\kyra1-cd.ini" kyra1-cd-de

Finally, language can be easily modified in-game for "Book 2" (Hand of Fate) and "Book 3" (Malcolm's Revenge). :D

GoG, could you update the three Legend of Kyrandia pages and installers (so it would be done automatically, after choosing one of the three languages) ?

Hi there!

Im sorry to say, but for me this isnt working? The game wont start after I add the "-de".
Just a little commandbox pops up, so short you cant read the message.

I would be glad if someone could give me advice.

also this starting commands did not work on Book One....
Is there a other option fpr fully german support?

mhm found error, there isn o fully german game..... speech is only english.... what a pitty there is no german speech pack.... i know the game had in the past a fully translations version... pitty gog.coim has only the text but better this as nothing

There is no fully voice translated version of any of the Kyrandia games. They all only ever had text translation in German and French. IIRC Hand of Fate floppy versions had localized voice overs in their intro, but all full talkie versions were English only when it comes to voices.

I think nowadays GoG offers separate downloads for the English, French, and German translations. That might be relevant for people trying to get a translated version running.

Sorry to necro this thread, but you are both semi-right.
The second game wasn't 100% fully voiced in german, BUT it had a german narrator who for instance goes through the intro with "Kyrandia verschwindet, Stein für Stein, Baum für Baum" blablabla, but INGAME the voices were in english.

Legend of Kyrandia 2 Hand of Fate is first game with polish dubb (only in intro) and polish text. Add this to GOG version please
