Just bought Log1 (and 2) and downloaded. Runs ok. On LoG1 I also downloaded the "Universal Update". I am wondering if I need to run it or not.

When the game runs (LoG1), it shows Version 1.36 on the splash screen. Does that include Univesal Update or do I need to apply that on top for latest (I assume best) version.

To help any answers, when I hover over the downloaded installer it shows as GoG 2.0.0.17, hovering over the Updater (Patch Legend of Grimrock) it shows GoG 2.0.1.19

I am also thinking one day I might d/l some custom maps, will the above affect that? Any Custom reccomendations?

(I remebered to mark this a a question, getting better).

The last version of the game on PC should be 1.37, so you'll need to run the Universal Update.

The patch is mostly concerning bugfixes and rendering improvements, so (speaking purely in a "in theory" context, as I'm not a developer) it shouldn't have an impact on whether you're able to access custom dungeons. It's still a good idea to have the patch installed anyway, since you never quite know if you'll be among those who experienced the problems it was created to address.

As to custom dungeon recommendations, the Master Quest comes to mind - http://www.nexusmods.com/grimrock/mods/239

If you're interested in others (and there are quite a few - it's not just custom dungeons), browse through what's available on NexusMods.

Many thanks for ther advice and links. The Master Quest looks interesting, 2 LoG's for the price of one now! Or the the price of .5 being in a sale. Some of the Nexus Mods stuff looks interesting as well. I'm not much of one for pure modding, but one or two things there are maybe worth a further look. First of all finish LoG1.

Thanks again and +1.
