I wouldn't call this cheating. It just analyzes your savegame and shows you which items are available in shops, hidden in treasure chests etc. As long as you're not editing anything (which can be done, too), you're not cheating, IMO.

If you're planning a very specific character build, that is using a certain spell, troop etc. using the savegame scanner is the only way to avoid possibly having to restart your game after ten or twenty hours playing time, just because certain spells, items or troops simply didn't show up. The whole concept of randomization isn't ideally solved in the KB games.

Is there a guide or can anyone tell me what some of the things mean in the scanner report? I'm looking for a spell and it shows being located in "wizard_tower embryo.17" but have no idea where that is. Only thing I can think is the tower in Debir where you get the axle.

Or perhaps you have knowledge of how to compile the savefile...
