Besse, you might want to download and install GameSpy to play this game online as its a rather old game and you won't find any servers in the in-game server browser.

If you are starting a multiplayer game please get these files ( 1.21 patch and mmclient.exe)

Hi,
Some antivirus progams incorrectly report the mmclient.exe as a trojan. This has been a problem for a while now.

I suppose you mean multiplayer on internet. If so, I see two possibilities:
-on public servers, NO. The number of players is decided by the server's owner.
-if you run your own dedicated server, YES. You can set it for 2 players only. And make it not visible on any server browser, and just give the address to your friend.
