I have it on steam and it runs like shit on my rig, plus its all stretched on my ultrawide. Has any patching been done?
Was just running it myself and it runs pretty well and in 4:3 aspect ratio (never played Steam version). There is an .exe file in the game directory called JustCause_nofix.exe along with the normal exe.

Which game?

Probably not patching but I imagine GOG made sure they ran on all their test machines and tries to ensure the games run out of the box to avoid too many refunds.

Have you tried asking for advice or fixes on the Steam forum, or PCGamingWiki?

That patch works but crashes my game for some reason. Win 10 x64.

I use rivatuner to limit framerate to 60fps this may help. I had crashes before this. I have another pc with a 144 hz monitor I will try on it also.

I tried to use it, but the game now crashes on start up, did you modified the .ini in any way? or deactivated something in the settings .exe or anything?

Edit: Welp, weird solution, instead of lauching the game with the play button in Galaxy, launching the game from the "shortcout" that says "Launch Just Cause" in its intalation directory, makes it work perfectly and with the widescreen patch in effect, weird pc things lol

OK, so I installed the patch, went into Configure, added a custom launch parameter, pointed it at the shortcut, and the game launches fine in Galaxy now. Widescreen, no crashing. No idea why that works since it's the same as the original shortcut.

Strange but hey these older games are strange to get going sometimes. Glad to hear it's working good.
So this release runs perfectly? I had a 100% issue on one of the bigger islands (on the steam version)

Can one just transfer a save from steam to the GOG version?

I would really consider buying this again if I can get a working version.
The offline downloads in GOG tell me that JC2 Complete Edition is on version 1.0.0.2 which AFAIK is the latest patched version of the game.

With my GTX 1660ti 6GB VRAM I chose 'optimal settings' in the Advanced Display Menu, but I reduce shadows to medium.
Plus, I set a 60fps cap with this command line:

Go to properties, shortcut, and then in the "target" add /frameratecap=60 /filmgrain=0 to the end, after the quotation marks.
The filmgrain option is for those who do not like the strange grain the game has during cutscenes. (It's a weird graphic filter which looks really bad on the PC version, so it's best to keep it off.)

The benchmark in-game confirms these settings and the game runs fine on my side.

For those computer systems where the game doesn't recognize the right GPU, you add this command line to the game's shortcut:

Add this command line to your JustCause2.exe shortcut: /dxadapter=0 <<<< will render the game with the dedicated card, check this in the in-game benchmark.
