Just thought I would inform about this, I am sure fans here would love to back up a new Jagged Alliance game! I sure did!

(PS. I have NOTHING to do with these guys, just a fan spreading the word!)

Pretty cool! Looks like they are trying to make amends for that crappy real-time disaster called "Back in Action". About time someone outside of Sir Tech (who had a good understanding of Jagged Alliance and what makes it great) got the rights to do a real JA game (sequel/Prequel). If I had to suffer through another half-assed and boring crap-fest like that Back in Action game I was going to scream.

I couldn't agree more!

I've done a complete playthrough more than once of every JA game until I got to that steaming pile being sold as "Back In Action". After 25 hours of endless frustration and crashes, I finally threw in the towel and uninstalled the darn thing.

I'm just a backer on the new JA: Flashback game but there's two really cool things I've seen so far. First, the developers are really on track to create a game worthy of the JA title. Two, they're really listening to fans on what they really want and don't want in the game.
Just a shame there is no co-op or multiplayer, something I think will result in poor sales.

Just image being able to work with others. You create a character, and can choose path/skills as you level up. Once finished with the single player, you can go online and "sell" your skills/services like in Back in Action's hire contract screen. People could hire you to join a game...you make money and buy more equipment etc.

Man that would be so much fun.

I think this would be of little value to JA fans overall. For starters many of us turn-based hardcores are not interested in the multiplayer/online fiasco. It sounds good in theory but in actual practice it is just a bunch of attention deficit teenagers striving to find ways to cheat others. There are of course exceptions to this (not everyone who plays online games is an attention deficit cheater) but in my experience if you play 10 different sessions of online, multiplayer games, 7 of those will be against (or with in the case of coop play) the "Ha!1 Yur MOMz a slut adn I PWNED yo wit my 200th level character I just cre8ted!11" type kids.

Secondly every feature added to and worked on in the development of these types of games (turn based single player) ends up detracting from the quality of the overall game. What will end up happening is instead of a stellar single player turn based game we will get a game that is a lesser single player and lesser multiplayer experience, full of more bugs.
I would rather they work on perfecting the single player AI than cater to the button-mashing crowd.
