If you look at the manual that comes with JA2 from GOG, it is splashed all over the first page: "Jagged Alliance 2 Gold Pak".

I'd say it is not the Gold edition because it does not include Unfinished Business which is available separately. The manual is from the Gold edition however, as mentioned.

I read though that the Gold version also added additional features and options to the original game. Are these additional features present in the GOG JA2?

Is there a link to those additional features? As far as I recall, the 1.12 patch is available for non Gold JA2, and it's the same as the one included in the Gold version. Too long since I last played 1.12 though, but I should be able to tell you if said features are part of GOG's 1.12 or not.

Is there a way when playing JA2 to see what version it is?

Press v in the map screen and it should show you the game version

If Iron Man mode was incorporated into the JA2 game through a post-UB patch (perhaps via v1.12?) then I guess you can call it Gold. I think the more relevant omission however is that the retail "Gold Pak" included UB and the UB editor so... JA2 on GOG is the latest official JA2 executable which was part of the Gold Pak originally. It doesn't really matter unless you think having to pay 6 USD extra for Unfinished Business and the editor in order to make it a complete single "Gold pak" a rip-off.

Version 1.2 is the official version. The 1.3 version is a community mod, and changes the game a lot.

Has anybody confirmed if this is the gold version yet? The gold pack isn't just JA2+JA2:UB but includes the improvement of JA2:UB to the original JA2. If it doesn't have these improvements it's simply the original JA2 and JA2:UB being sold separately.

For People that need v1.12. Grab the Source, Grab a VM, Grab a Copy of Win98SE, Grab a Copy of Visual Studio 6.0. Change the Language via #define and compile. This very Easy to do. No Coder Skils is needed.

I have the Original German Retail version from JA2 (v1.00, copy protected with Laserlok) and the PCAction Release (v1.02), the Retail version from Unifnished Business in German (i think copy protectet with vmProtect, the German exe v1.00 and v1.01 is packed).

I buy the GOG UB version. This Version 1.01. I m Translated this English to German via Hex. Now i have v1.12 toal in German for JA2 and v1.01 komplet in German for UB. :)
