I'm playing this awesome game without reloads (hard difficulty) and man it seems tough. The battles are not the problem at least not yet, the problems are reinforcements. Sometimes I take a map and enemies arrive before I even explored the map. In my last one they arrived at 6:50 (the second reinforcement too) and I naturally lost the sector. Even if I finished the sector and moved on they would again take over since it seems I can only put guards at the beginning of a day.

And it seems you can not accept moral loss of the natives. Because of the wounded I slept through a day with no actions and lost a sector and literally every guard left. I tried to win sectors to gather morale but in the battle enemies just take over the other empty sectors, leading again to moral loss so I can't recruit guards and I've lost all the money anyway. There seems to be no way I can rebounce after a significant moral loss. Is this how the game is, one moral loss and game over?

I'm kinda new to the game (only played it when years ago) so I may not be getting something of course.

Have you noticed that you can raise natives' salary?

No I didn't notice that. I assume you can hire non-available ones that way?

It increases their morale (and you get more of them to join you).
