Big fan of JA2 here, prob played the game like 30 times over the years and it's still alot of fun to me, definetly my favourite game of all-time.

Decided to reinstall today with the 1.13 patch and I got most of my custom options set, although..

How do I make it so that I can see how many bullets are in each gun in combat? I've looked an hour now and I can't seem to find the option for changing it :/

As I progress trough the game I'm sure I'll run into more things I'll probably want to change, so I will repost in this thread should that occur.

Thanks in advance!
Managed to find it, nevermind C:
Too late to help OP, but for those also looking for it, it's the HIDE_BULLET_COUNT_INTENSITY option in ja2_options.ini

Do feel free to reply to my post with any questions you may have.

Damn Jmich, can't belive you're still active around here - Nice to see someone so dedicated to the game :D

I ran into another little problem...

Is there a way to change Bobby Rays Gun Selection from Excellent to Awesome even though you've already got some saves or do you have to start over?

Hex Editing your save or debugging it will also work, assuming you know what to change. Depending on how comfortable you are with it, and how many days in game you are, restarting may be easier/faster.

How would one Hex edit or debug to change it?

Debugging would require you to have a compiler and the source code for the version you are playing, adding a breakpoint and changing the setting on the fly. Hex editing would require a hex editor (obviously) and knowing at which address that specific setting is saved. Source code of specific version would help, but you'd need to do some digging.
Thus why I said restarting may be faster.

Yeah I guess I'll have to restart.

I seem to enjoy harder difficulty nowadays anyway with JA2, currently on expert but I'll restart on Insane.

I like it when I actually get to spend alot of bullets to kill soldiers seeing as how they added all these different types of ammunition.

Like glacer for example, I could NOT belive my fucking eyes when I saw how much damage it does to Bloodcats or Crepitus, just makes the game a bit too easy, but to adjust to that then playing on Insane difficulty will probably be the answer I'm looking for C:

Be aware that glaser is almost useless against armored opponents, unless you somehow manage to bypass said armor. But if it hits an unprotected enemy, the x3 damage modifier is indeed insane.

I just cleared Omerta on Insane difficulty, and OMFG even that was so hard lol

This is gonna be some shit I can tell xD

Is there an option to change gun jam frequensy or no?

If so, where would I find it? :o

I don't recall there being such an option. Only one I recall was for how overheating effects jams, but nothing for gun status and jams.

Really?

It seems like guns are jamming way too much atm, like one of my AK's are jamming a hell of a lot and its at like 80 % which should be way above jamming potential (at least for the likes of an AK in regards to its reliability)

The lower the condition, the higher the chance it jams.
Not sure, but IIRC it also matters if the character is specialized in that weapon type or not. If not, higher chance to jam.

But has weapon jamming always been working like that, or does it also have to do with what difficulty you're playing on?

I'm doing Expert atm.

Or did the introduction of 1.13 make them set jam chance way higher just overall?

I might be speculating bit too much ;p
