Thank you for the link, it took a bit but it worked (the link, just dropped that DLL into my game directory and it worked like a charm)

I never got to finish NWN2 (when I had the disc version) because of all the bugs it had (which I think I tracked most of them down to my having Storm of Zehir installed, once I uninstalled that, nearly all the bugs disappeared, though still into one :/ Hoping GoG version has at least fixed those), and loved it, and wanted to finish it.

Then I ran into the choppy movement after installing, and I knew it wasn't because my computer had been running a while (I always turn my computer off at night and it had only been running a couple of hours today, and I had just installed NWN2), so this dll really saved my sanity over the choppy movements.

I can't seem to get the link to work correctly. Any way to post that d3d9.dll file for everyone to use?

Not sure if you've tried this but just highlight and copy the link - https://web.archive.org/web/20180604111220/https://bitbucket.org/fk/jade-empire-stutter-fix/downloads/ - and then paste the whole thing into your browser address bar. That way the page opens and you can download the file. The link does not work if you just click on it.

wisnial: Hi. Does someone still have the files somewhere cause the link is dead.

Selroy: It's still available at archive.org. This forum breaks links, so just copy and paste it. The file is also saved there, but I couldn't post direct link.

fk.: Hi y'all,

so I reinstalled Jade Empire and ran into [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/jade_empire_special_edition/any_stuttering_problems]stuttering issue, with the game being very stuttery and janky even though frame rates were high. And since I don't like being forced to reboot, I made a fix for the problem.

Download:
https://bitbucket.org/fk/jade-empire-stutter-fix/downloads

Installation:
- Extract the contents of this archive (in particular `d3d9.dll`) into your
Jade Empire installation directory, next to `JadeEmpire.exe`.
- Run the included `vcredist_x86.exe` installer to install the
*Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 x86 Redistributable*. You may already have it
installed in which case the installer will do nothing.

Source:
Can be found at https://bitbucket.org/fk/jade-empire-stutter-fix. Builds with VS2015.

I hope someone else finds this useful.
