Hey, I've obtained the (chaos-infused) golem shard that the Executioner wanted, to grant access to the inner chamber. In his cutscene, he said to bring the shard to the inner doors. When I do so, nothing triggers. Is this a bug? Happened to anyone else?

I checked a walkthrough and apparently I did the Fortress quests in a different order than shown, but still accomblished them all, except for gaining access to the inner chamber. Both Masters killed in the Golem Press room. Prisoners freed. Golem shard obtained. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Anything I might be overlooking?

Also, one bit of weirdness during the earlier quests was that one of Shin's Acolytes never went hostile when the whole group attacked, and when I clicked on him, the cutscene of them attacking repeated. He's still not hostile, and hence was standing on a walkway during my interaction with the Executioner when he tells me to bring the golem shard to the doors.

Maybe I need to redo the quests in a different order, since I got the golem shard pretty early on, before the Shin Acolyte fight--has anyone encountered any of this and found a workaround?

Thanks,
ThalgarFnast

edit: Nope, tried again with the same order of quests as in the walkthrough. The inner door where I bring the golem spirit shard still won't open. This stops the game in its tracks for me. I'll report it as a bug, unless someone sees something I'm overlooking.

This is probably too late to help you, but I'll put the information here in case it might help anyone else who runs into this problem:

- I've just completed the GOG version of this game on Windows 7 and I didn't encounter this problem or in fact any other significant problems with the game.

- However, after finishing the game playing as a good character, I watched an evil character playthrough which did encounter this bug (see the last couple of minutes of this video):

I can't be certain but I think the bug might be caused by killing Master Gang, which is optional (whereas you have to kill Master Shin):
- If you don't kill Master Gang he is waiting for you outside the inner door and speaking to him triggers the cut-scene which advances the game correctly.
- If you kill Master Gang it seems nothing may happen when you approach the inner door and it's then impossible to advance the game.

Hope this helps!

You should get out from the Lotus Assasin lair, and meet the acolyte that transfers slaves. You can kill her and free the slaves or whatever according your way f philosophy.

Thanks for the video showing the bug. That is what I experienced too. Still haven't returned to the game so it was good to see how that part of the plot played out.
