Every single time I try to alter the graphics setting in any way the game crashes. I know the game is a little dated graphics wise but right now it's really unacceptable. Can anyone help?

same here, cannot change to HD..

Do you get the same result if you set your resolution manually in settings\user.cfg ?

Widescreen resolutions are stretched from 4:3 for this game, so if all else fails you can play in the highest supported 4:3 resolution.
