Whenever I wish to start the game on my main desktop PC it crashes with the Error: Unable to initialise desired video mode ( error : 0x88760827).

On my desktop I have Windows 7 SP1 64 bit - AMD HD Radeon 6900 Series on Intel Core i5 2500K.

The game works on my HP laptop with the same OS and on-board AMD Radeon HD 6770M.

I cannot find solution anywhere for this error.

Maybe my desktop AMD graphics drivers do not support it any more?

Arkose, thank you for your post. Editing settings\user.cfg solved my problem. However setting resolutions and 16bit to 32bit was not enough, even in cases where I changed my desktop resolution to 16 bit or lowered it, the same error showed again.

The game finally started working when I set fullscreen to 0 to run the game in windowed mode. Now I can play the game up to resolution 1776x1000 without problem in windowed mode, but fullscreen does not work on my desktop PC (although game works in fullscreen on my laptop).

I have a very similar hardware setup, and I'm unable to get the cutscenes playing smoothly. They all lag.
