This is crazy. I backed it in Kickstarter, and I got my code . It redeemed fine here. I only play from offline installers, no Galaxy. I apparently have two other codes, which per the instructions I have to put in profile in the game menu. But Profile is unresponsive. Game will not start after selecting difficulty. It simply does nothing.

Very disgruntled.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem. I too was greeted with a message that I am playing an open beta version of the game, although I bought it yesterday and the game was released on 1.9.2020(according to GOG Store Page of the game).

I can start the game, but I can not play Skirmish. After I press Skirmish and choose a map, I press Continue, but nothing happens.

I can start Campaign by clicking Overview and then choosing a mission.

Wish someone could help us.
It seems that several functions are tied to game account. If you want to play without GOG Galaxy, you will be in offline mode. IT seems that this mode won't let you start campaign from Overview. What's more, if you are playing offline, the settings seems not to be saved, but instantly reset to default.

This is not going to cut it. GOG , by pushing the Galaxy app that I do not want, is becoming like the other launcher sites that they specifically have always said they are not like. Disabling the CAMPAIGN without Galaxy, which has no requirement to be online, is basically a form of DRM.

I got my first response back from GOG. They said try setting my DPI from 125% to 100%. Yeah, that did nothing. I'll keep you all posted if something works.

P.S. I also put in a ticket with King Art. Have note heard from them yet.

The Campain can be played by using the mission selection screen.
Everything else does not work though.

And thanks for calling out the support already. I wanted to do that at the weekend.
Got another reply back.
Hello,

We are waiting for a new build from the developer.
Hopefully all issues will be fixed in the upcoming patch.
If you do not wish to wait then I can convert this purchase into GOG Wallet Funds which you can use towards a different game on our platform.
I apologise for the inconvenience.
At last this shows, that GoG is aware of the problem.
Hopefully this is true for the Dev too...

It does not explain how they could forget propper testing on an PC without Galaxy installed again.
At best they looked at "does it install" and "does it start".
I downloaded the game again, and installed again.

So I got it to play, sort of. Hitting overview under campaign works, but you have to select each new story chapter. Just hitting continue causes the game to pick up at the beginning of the PREVIOUS mission.

Also, as has been said, no settings are kept at all. I do not want a borderless window, I want Full screen, and I want all of my options I selected to stay implemented.

Profile and just about every other game related button on the Main Menu still do not work.

Yeah. I don't think King Art can comprehend that many people don't like launchers.

UPDATE:

I received an email from GOG in which they were able to replicate the exact same symptoms as I have. They have notified King Art, and they expect a new copy that works at some (hopefully) soon time.

In the meantime they tried to entice me to use Galaxy again so I can play it.

Nope. I shall wait.

Thanks for keeping us informed.
I will wait too and hopefully King Art get this done sometime soon, i realy want to play this game.
I see the developers can reply to others but not his one. :(
I installed the game with GoG Galaxy with my desktop because I had it installed there.

It installs fine then patches up to the current version then you can access all the options.
You are signed into your GoG account and can access all campaigns.

I then transferred it via external HDD to my laptop and you can run it fine.
The problem is that you are still logged out even with the King Art folder from the locallow in appdata copied over from when you were signed in on the other PC.

Suggesting that you have to sign in once to be validated as a online one time activation even for single player.(unless I messed up massively and I didn't get the actual player profile with the folder)
I don't know if the player profile is linked to the GoG Galaxy installer or where if it is based on the steam apps but it doesn't carry over between machines. This is a one time online activation DRM which the devs seem to have coded in and GoG hasn't modified for the offline installer.

I am willing to overlook a online log in to access multiplayer as long as the multiplayer has no LAN option. Requiring a first time log in for a SP campaign is not something I overlook because that is why I buy on here and not steam. I want a working offline only install. So the reason I thought it wasn't working because it was a time limited beta version was wrong.

Please fix this. I am pretty disappointed.

Today's patch (Galaxy only for now) fixed that issue. I can start the campaign, skirmish mode and the challenges without Galaxy. Also changing the settings will be accepted now without the client. :)

Let's hope that the offline installer will be updated as soon as possible.

Yes, it should have been launch but as long as it is fixed I do not care too much.

I just want an offline install I can block access to the internet so it doesn't track me and an online install for multiplayer where I accept online only / being tracked for MP stats.

Updated offline installer is available now. :)
