I recently switched to beta v1.1 on steam and what an amazing difference. No more stuttering, it's perfectly smooth and mouse movement is no longer locked to a 30 fps tick upscaled, it's now based on your framerate, so playin that game locked at 144 fps is smooth as silk.

We won't get any BETA here on GOG because the devs don't care. Maybe some day the BETA phase is finally over and they decide to update the full game to 1.1 but nobody knows when that will actually happen. I'm pretty sure we'll reach the games first anniversary (August 15, 2020) before we see another update going live.

That is incorrect. On the duke4 discord channel, someone asked about that and this is how it usually works:

"Voidpoint provides the update files to GOG, but they don't control when they go live as that's entirely in GOG's hands. It typically only takes a day or two before it it's pushed (sometimes less, sometimes more, but in any case that is out of voidpoint's control)."

I recommend getting onto Discord and then going to duke4's discord channel:

https://discord.gg/FQkMQ7r

Voidpoint devs hang out there.

That's the point. They've not provided the current BETA for GOG customers even though GOG Galaxy supports BETA channels. They've also not provided achievements for GOG customers because they don't care to ad achievements here. This has been confirmed by one of the devs some time ago.

The game is now one year old and there has only been one patch released during the past 365 days that hasn't fixed many of the big issues the game had and still has. People like me haven't even been able to really play the game because of how poorly it runs. The BETA update seems to improve things but nobody knows when this update will not be BETA anymore. It has been in BETA for months now and the devs won't give you any kind of information besides the usual "It will be available SOON™" crap.

Won't be long now.

Just in case I informed the GOG support. Hopefully this will speed up the upgrade process a little.
This really sucks. The delayed update of many games on GOG is the biggest disadvantage of the platform for me....

Guess I'll have to play something else then this weekend. I wonder if Voidpoint has even send the updated files to GOG yet. Wouldn't be surprised if that is not the case.
We sent the patch forward when it was ready. It was acknowledged last week that GOG should've had it by Friday already from the info I've received.

Thanks for the update. Also, how did you make your text orange?

Should've doesn't mean they actually got it and the game not being updated by now makes me believe more that they've recieved nothing yet.

Can't you use the automated system that many other developers use? In this way the waiting time would become practically zero for those who use Galaxy.

You're asking too much here. Voidpoint is already having a hard time posting some news about this new update or even the changelog for it (both hasn't happend til today).

Yeah we heard of this and someone's looking into it.
