Quick tests shows that yes, this can extract there are issues with the "reimport" (file sizes need to be smaller than the export and sometimes they can be larger when simply importing/exporting) but the script is documentation of format which could lead to pure executable if someone wanted to take the time.

Datafiles are stored in xml format (though often with txt extension or even other random extensions).

I don't understand because when I play the writing seems superb. It flows beautifully and is one of the best-written games I've played. There's not any moments where I've been like "oooh, that was translated poorly" because I don't even notice it being stilted or anything like some translated things are, granted I haven't beat the game, but, it just is written so well IMO I'm wondering if you played an older version that they have improved upon since you played?

If you actually read, instead of skim, you'll find the problem very quickly. There are a large number of errors in the translation; be they grammatical, spelling (which also varies on named objects such as Ezekiel or Esechial), and occasional word order problems.

I do actually read. I never skim. Even AAA games have typographical errors at times, but what you are suggesting Inquisitor has is enough of a drawback and glaring issues to reduce your ability to enjoy the game, which I just don't see. A screenshot of an example would be appreciated. Like I said, I haven't beaten the game so maybe I just haven't encountered the majority of the issues yet.

Granted, I am not a native speaker, but my English is very good, if not excellent, and I just don't see any glaring issues with the dialogue in this game. Typos can creep up on anyone, but even those are rare. Most importantly, sentence structure is sound. They could have used more paragraphs for larger walls of text, though.
If you can disable monster respawning via modding it would be great. Repetitive filler combat is the most annoying aspect of this game.

I am very OCD about typographical errors in games, whether AAA or indie. I would go one step further and *volunteer* myself to fix these errors in the game, as I also find the setting, lore and writing superb in all other respects.

I am also a native English speaker with plenty of time on my hands. If the devs ever decide to read these posts, please feel free to send me a PM. I have a large amount of experience in both translation and editing (my father is an independent novelist and I edit errors in his novels due to my high perceptive abilities).

The same goes for anyone else who needs an editor or translator (I am a bilingual Finnish/English speaker; I also have ten years of Mandarin Chinese linguistic experience).

Another thought: if anyone is planning on making a mod for this game, I could help out with that too.

I highly doubt anyone will read this post, however. :-P

I read it! Too bad I can't offer you a job. I also am quite good with words and editing (althought some posts of mine do have evidence to the contrary, I'm sure.)
Hopefully someone can fix the horrible combat system. I HATE the combat system in this game and it is so bad it prevent me from playing the game. You need to carry one million potions to survive, hate it hate it.

This.. You really shouldn't need that many and if you do, at least they could have implemented 1 potion per type but with a number close to the icon telling how many you currently have.
I might doing something wrong but can't find any file where Hugo stats are saved.
I want to give him slight buff, especially more health since ~80hp and +3 every level is pitiful in game where everything whack him fast.
Unpacked all DAT files in Inquisitor/GameData but most things here are about gfx, animations, sounds and dialogs. Unpacked saves but also nothing editable here.
No xml files either.

+1 to both of these suggestions.

The game feels really grindy because of the endless combat. Just how many frikkin' evil clergy are there under the Cathedral in the second city?! There are more clergy down there than there are people in the whole city!

On a related note, hope you're not playing on EASY. Strangely enough, the game is actually much easier on HARD, since that way your companions get WAY more health and therefore are actually useful. It's a very strange design decision with respect to difficulty levels.

Still, the combat is boring and repetitive, yet the actual plot etc. is good. I've never both liked a game and at the same time loathed it like I do this game.
