Reset. That's what has happened. All locations outside of the one I am currently in have reset. Every interaction with every NPC is reset to the beginning. Returning to Hillbrandt gives me the opening Act I screen.

I still have all my levels, my items, the notes in my journal. All that. But everywhere else has reset.

Hell, I can even pick up a second dog!

This has effectively broken my game. How can I play on with everything set like this? This is the second time this has happened. I deleted the first character this happened to. Really frustrating because I was on Orc Cave Level 3 and I do not look forward to redoing that place.

Wow that's unusual. Did the game reset when you were in the same location/area each time? What I mean is there some common factor that's causing your game to reset like this? I haven't heard of this happening to anyone so I wonder if you stumbled upon some unique way of handling something?

Keep a copy of a save after this reset happens and try to remember the steps/events that lead up to it. You might be able to send a copy of it to Kovi to see if they can hunt down the cause.

If by Kovi you mean the makers of the game, im pretty sure they've gone bankrupt shortly after releasing this game.

Well someone is posting as them as of a couple hours ago and they've been helpful so I'll leave it up to you to believe whatever you want to.

What seems to have happened was a corrupted save. It happens sometimes when I quickload. It doesn't load anything just goes to the save menu. Then no matter what game I click to load absolutely nothing happens.

So I quit out and go back in and then it loads fine. It broke, I think, when I went into the game and it stuck like that without even playing. That seemed to be when the save corrupted.

I've loaded an earlier one and that works fine.

I think it's all the alt-tabbing I do. Either way, be careful everyone else. Makes lots of saves. Which I guess we should be doing anyway.

Seen this happen when i alt-tabbed out of the game once, and later when I wanted to play again, started another game of inquisitor while the first one was still running. The second game crashed and the first one got all quests/dialogues/etc reset.

This just happened to me. Maybe from tabbing out? Very annoying and I'm trying to find a save that it doesn't happen to but can't seem to. Looks like I have to start over :|

Sorry about that. It is an unresolved memory leak that can happen for some reason. I'm afraid that this bug won't be fixed.

Hey, no worries! I had started the game a while ago but wasn't very far so it's not a big deal. The game is great! Great dialogues to re-read are good! And what of it I don't want to repeat is easy enough to skip. Will be aware of it now and not tab out!
