I just installed my copy of the independence war and during the very first mission (where you learn how to fly by going through the hoops) the framerate drops to less than 5 fps. It makes the thing almost unusable.

Any idea if I should use some compatibility mode or something to get it to work?

My setup:
Win 10
Nvidia GTX 970
8 Gb ram
240Gb SSD
i5 4690K 3.5Ghz

Do you have starfield blur turned on in the options? If so, turn it off to get your FPS up.
My game runs way too fast.

4790k
1080 gtx
16 gb
win 10

I have an idea that maybe I should switch my computer to CPU graphics by switching to cpu graphics in BIOS. Unfortunately my monitor only has displayport input and I can't connect it directly to the motherboard. Try it and tell me if it works. I'm not going to buy a new monitor just to play I-war. All other GOG games rune fine.

I tried to play it on several laptops and everywhere works as it should. 30 fps in the menu in 60 fps in-game. I tried locking frame rate, vsync, rivatuner... I must have spent at least 15-20 hours trying to solve this problem.
