Hey,

Get this error message on startup, the splash screen appears, then a few seconds later a dialouge box pops up saying "Failed to create direct music performance".

I press "Ok" and another one comes up which says:
"Failed to initialise drawing surfaces. Please check your graphics card meets the minimum requirements and that your drivers are up to date. If your graphics card has little memory, try switching your computer to a lower resolution."

The graphics card is more than capable, seem to be a DirextX issue, but can't figure it out.

I read that this works for some people:

Try installing/updating/repairing Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (or 4.0 if you're on XP):

or installing/updating/repairing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistribution Package:
For XP:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
For Win7:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

And remember to restart after you're all done with this.

You can also try to change the resolution of your screen to something lower and then start the game.

Or check in your drivers settings if all the advanced options are set to 'application controlled'. Like this post suggests:

They are also still working on the next patch. Hopefully it'll fix all the most serious bugs.
