Hi,

I specially bought this game at GoG because it was promised to run on Window 10. However it doesn't. Is shows the same problem as my original steam game that doesn't work anymore since upgrade to Windows 10 (from Windows 7). What a shame! The game is advertised at Gog specifically as running in Windows 10 as well. (at least on an Nvideacard, which I have). This is the first game I buy at Gog's.The problem is that 'direct play' is missing. (which is the standard problem when tryiing to run this game). Can anyone help me out on this one? I cannot imagine I'm the only one with this problem. Thanks in advance.

I seem to recall that I got some popup about "direct play" too after first installing the game. The error msg gave me an option to download the missing components though.

You can manually enable direct play (see link for screenshots), though you might run into issues as found in the thread below on the Microsoft forums:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/directplay-cant-be-enabled/c0812995-8850-4249-9b80-ffcadf61a9ec

A post by "jennatar" from May 3rd, 2018 (in true MSFT fashion, you can't link to individual posts, nor are posts numbered) describes a solution in case Windows thinks it's smarter than you and reverts your change.
EDIT: Though this seems to only have been a problem with Win10 ver.1709. With a newer version you should be able to activate direct play.
