For me the new 2.0 beta clinet is really aweful.
Finding things is a lot less intuitive, I do not like the look,
and since I have the new client I do not like playing games on GoG anymore.
The client really makes me not want to play gog games anymore.
It happened several times now, that I clicked on the client wanting to play a game, and when I saw the client, I just closed it again.
Even the new symbol for me is something I do not like to click on it anymore.
I really liked gog client about 2 years ago. When it still had the new releases as the front page. GoG does not have soo many releases (but no crappy ones) this way I could always scout all new releases easily.
When this was not easy to see on the first page, it was really a bummer for me.
And now the client is just horrendous to use. I know it is my own fault for trying the 2.0 beta,
but I did not expect it to be as bad....
The start page (recent) is 100% useless for me, and I do not see why this is the start page. Especially the "recently played by others" is just annoying and unneeded.
The "store highlight" would make more sense as it was before.
I rarely clicl now on store highlight, before I looked at it, but having this ugly useless start window I just want to close the client and not waste more time with it.
Also the store highlights just look so much different from the rest of the client.
Also having to play games needs now 1 more click... Before they were just readily there on the side.
Also I liked them being ordered after what I played last.
Also on all games, having them ordered by purchase was for me way better, and I could kinda see what I bought when. Also I think before there was the tile of the game above the picture, (and it was in a list) this was soo much easier to see games than it is now. Yes every game has the name in its screenshot, but thery are all written differently, completely inconsistence, hard to read, hard to search by eye etc.
The search function field is still there but feels more hidden, why not have it like a normal field like games et? (as I think it was before) ?
I hate the new steam look as well, but gog galaxy 2.0 just topped it by far.
