obliviondoll: "4 week" wait time on support tickets at the moment.

With "4 weeks" meaning tickets from March are still yet to be replied to.
Not true. I had a problem with the old version of galaxy not working (after I reverted) and I got a support reply only a couple of weeks later

I have a support ticket from March with no replies other than automated.
I have a support ticket that's almost 5 weeks without a response.
I have a support ticket with 3 weeks and counting.

I wouldn't have said it if it wasn't true.

I can't even keep the launcher running without it deciding it needs to communicate and can't then closes itself. It's too much of a hassle to go thru all this for the 2 games I have installed. Thank you for your thread and for your assistance. This whole forced update is such a stupid idea especially when the software is so BETA it refuses to even run properly for a large number of users.
I had been sticking with Galaxy 2.0 so that I could understand complaints, to give it a fair shot, and to see if it got better.

After having the "Sorry we couldn't load the data" error show up for about the five hundredth time and having an update fail after trying to download for ten minutes, I broke down and reinstalled Galaxy 1.2.68. I managed to get my games imported pretty quickly, with the only hiccup being to remember to turn off auto updates for the games that I had modded.

Upon getting the games imported about 20 out of 98 games updated. I don't know if this is something to do with Galaxy 1.2.68 getting different updates, or if it is due to Galaxy 2.0 not properly updating games, but the updated games seem to have no issues either way.

One thing I didn't realize is that Galaxy 2.0 wasn't launching some games correctly. For example, I have been replaying the Heroes Chronicles games and when they launched through Galaxy 2.0 the video would be off center after the resolution change, with the main menu being corrupted until I alt-tabbed out of the game and back into it. Since this sort of thing happens with older games and I could get around it easily, it didn't bug me that much. But I've launched the games about ten times from Galaxy 1.2 and I have never gotten the same error, despite getting the error almost every time on Galaxy 2.0.

There is no version 1.2.68, the last version of the 1.x line is 1.2.67.58, which can be downloaded from here:

Looking at my installation file it is indeed 1.2.67.58. I guess I rounded up in my head.

Or cut out "7.5"
1.2.6(7.5)8
Over the past few days Galaxy 1.2 has been logging me out every few hours or so. I can log in again fine, but I have to reenter my password information, despite having the "Keep me logged in" option selected in settings. Is anyone else on 1.2 having this issue?

I haven't checked in the last 2 days, but 3 days ago I was logged in for a solid 5 or 6 hours without any issues.
My old version is running fine thanks to the help from these forums.
Only problem I have is this annoying blue bar along the bottome coming up telling me I am not running version 2 and am missing out on the fine crap they are trying to force me to use.
Question..anyway to get rid of the blue bar, bloody thing covers my bottom selections and even buttons while surfing GOG

I get that too, annoying, i started getting response errors in client today as well, i thought it was something to do with 1.2 but i keep getting bad gateway and backend fetch errors in browser too

and the forum is running quite slow, it's not my internet because i tried signing in to answers hq (origin) and steam and they work fine, so maybe there's something qrong with the gog servers today.

Edit: (from in client) back to normal now.

Mac OSX link for Galaxy 1.2.x (The "Good" Galaxy):

https://content-system.gog.com/open_link/download?path=/open/galaxy/client/galaxy_client_1.2.67.47.pkg

To prevent updates, delete:
Galaxy Updater.app and version.update from /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/autoupdate/

BlackSun: To cleanly disable update, do the following:

...

6) Make your voices heard by voting in this community wishlist topic: Allow users to stay with Galaxy 1.2
Thank you. The only thing missing in the OP is a direct link to the gog 1.2 client (perhaps put that before "step 0")

BlackSun: In case the update already happened, all you can do is...
- uninstall Galaxy, and reinstall v1.2 from an old setup (Link: hosted by GoG).
=)
