AWG43: Please, can anyone tell me how to remove this annoying notification in a library?

zippythezip: I also want this gone
I got that today to. I came on to see if this is an Omen of death.

Thanks for this post. I logged in for the first time in a while today after picking up a couple games and lo and behold... Forced update. Unbelievable. I use GOG partly to avoid stupid forced updates on my games (but mostly for no DRM), now their launcher does it? I'm honestly surprised. The new design is awful, 1.x is simple and gives me the info I want. And I found out recently they removed the GOG Downloader because it's integrated into the launcher. That was my favorite feature... I literally only used Galaxy at all to keep one game updated.

Galaxy 1.2 keeps flashing this little gem at me telling me I was missing out on all the new features and improvements. I guess GOG considers having your whole library disappear for six months with no fix a feature and an improvement

dBLOOD: I don't understand, are they this ignorant, they don't care how much a lot of people fucking hate that shit Galaxy 2.0? I'm completely flabbergasted.
that there is no feedback on all of this is devastating, the missmanagement inside gog must be enormous.
i lost trust in gog and stopped buying games from here. who knows what else goes sideways ...

What new features? The only think I hear about is linking all my launchers. I don't want that, and from all the posts they don't have it close to working anyway.

I have yet to see anything that sounds even remotely useful, let alone worth the pain caused by their new colors and layout.

Edit: Looks like they are blocking the download function on 1.2. It might just be an error, cause I did download Prey and a DLC I bought, but it's refusing to work after those two and I'm having to download the rest of the DLC's for Xcom2 manually.

I hope it's just a glitch and not a giant middle finger to all the people that won't join the bandwagon.

It happens from time to time that the downloads fail. It's allways been like that. You just have to wait and try again later or next day.

I've never had that happen before. It is sort of working now although it's going at such a snail's pace.

I am seriously disappointed. Been with GOG since 2009, and been swearing by them ever since, BECAUSE they give their consumers more choice and freedom than anyone else. Now this? Is this the beginning of the end? Are they really becoming what they set out to defeat in the first place?

I have re-downloaded and installed 1.2, added the "startWithoutUpdating" commandline and deleted any update related files from the programdata folder, but this is EXACTLY the kind of shit I never had to deal with using GOG, and the exact reason why I DON'T use Steam, Epic, Uplay, Origin or any other shitty launcher. I LIKED GOG's (optional!) client, and because it was optional and good, I USED it. Don't start going down this path. PLEASE.

Also, why are they not addressing any of this?

Sigh... I guess it really is true - nothing good can last. Nothing.

you're not alone with this apprehension, same here. sadly :/

"4 week" wait time on support tickets at the moment.

With "4 weeks" meaning tickets from March are still yet to be replied to.

Fair enough, but that relates to support tickets. What about this thread:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0/gog_galaxy_20_closed_beta_is_now_live_lets_talk

Where they specifically say they want to talk and engage, and haven't really said anything for the past 30 pages or so?
I received this update now and I'm wondering, WHERE CAN I DIRECTLY ACCESS THE FORUMS???

Also I'm not very pleased with becoming a Galaxy 2.0 beta testing user without notice and without possibility to reject it.

Besides that, I like the look of the client more then before but it has to be more cutomizable.

That one I don't have an answer for. But given that they think March was only 4 weeks ago on the platform where they have an obligation to respond...

...yeah good luck getting a reply within 2 years of posting on the forums?

You can't.

It is technically possible to access the forums by going to the store page for a game and then clicking the forum link from there. But you have to do that every time you want to access the forums.

People have suggested making a bookmark once you've gotten to the forums but in addition to being a clumsy workaround, it flat out doesn't work in the most recent version of Galaxy. The bookmark button will indicate that a bookmark has been made, but nothing will appear on the left of the screen.

Through an even more roundabout method you can get to your account page, which gives you a nicer library view that allows for sort by purchase date. But bookmarking that runs into the same problem: the program indicates that a bookmark has been made but nothing displays on the list to the left.

What's really weird about viewing the library is that clicking on the games sends you to the Galaxy entry, not to the expanded view you'd get on the website. So it's like they intended the library to be integrated with Galaxy, but they didn't give us any easy way to get there.

Can't say I like this version either. Colour scheme doesn't appeal, can't access the forums easily (having to go to the store page to get at them - seriously?!), also keeps coming up with expansions I have for game as being Unknown Game which is ridiculous since they're already installed. None of the new features interest me so waste of time as far as I'm concerned. Give us back the old version and work on improving that if you must, but get rid of this garbage.
