The goal behind GOG GALAXY 2.0 is to bring all your games and friends together in one place. Today, a new partner joins us and takes us another step closer to achieving it.

We’re happy to add to GOG GALAXY 2.0 the official integration with Epic Games Store, which is the second most connected external platform in the app, says Oleg Klapovsky, SVP at GOG. Together with GOG.COM and Xbox Live, those official integrations are bringing a more seamless and reliable experience to gamers.

We’re excited that Epic Games Store integration has come to GOG GALAXY 2.0, said Steve Allison, General Manager of the Epic Games Store. It’s an important step towards breaking down walls between PC stores, as it enables a unified experience for players to manage their PC games library independent of where their games were purchased.

The new official integration is the latest addition to GOG GALAXY 2.0, which we’re constantly improving with features requested by gamers. One of the recently added was the ability to see all your gaming subscriptions in one place. It helps gamers to conveniently browse, install, and launch games from an overwhelming amount of titles available on each subscription.

Fronzel: Do I have to use Epic's launcher if I were to connect an Epic account to Galaxy?

Ryan9245: If you want to install an Epic Store game or start a game requiring the launcher, then yes.
This shows how useless this new integration is.

I don't feel safer using GOG Galaxy ..

Don't forget, if you are concerned about Data Privacy with Galaxy, take a look at what is shared with partners. Also note that there are some GOG games that transmit data to GOG, even without Galaxy.

feels a bit like pressure washing your garage while your house is on fire ... couldn't care less about any integration while the most basic functions of your client don't work.

also, the lack of communication is insane.

RaveWolf1: Can I load my Games on Epics GUI because at least their app works...
Ever since I downloaded and installed GOG 2.0 I have been unable to get it to work, and your support is next to nothing, resulting in your FINAL Solution telling me to download the games and not use the GOG App.
It's a shame they aren't sharing this:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0/how_to_keep_galaxy_v12_client_and_avoid_the_forced_v20_beta_update

Reverting and blocking updates is a valid solution with the only problem being the recurring "Galaxy wants to update and can't" message, a small strip of blue on the bottom of the client window.

Probably because it no longer works... I just tried it now and as some have mentioned in the thread... That version has been discontinued and prevents you from signing in.

On July 11th, a person confirmed that it worked for them, and nobody since then has said it's been discontinued. Only that you get a blue bar popping up on the screen saying it's having trouble updating. And I haven't had any issues signing in the couple of times I've launched the 1.2 version after setting it up as was described in that topic, including right before typing this message, and I'm still signed in now, as I post it.

SmollestLight: bring all your games
How about finally bringing my game back to the Galaxy library?

The problem was discovered in the middle of May and now it's the end of July. During this time, I created a topic about this problem on the GOG Galaxy 2.0 forum, three reports on Mantis and even tried to solve this problem myself (the moment when I finally made sure that the problem is somewhere on your server / database, because the game isn't appeared in the library even after a fresh install on another computer), but there is still no ANY response from GOG and / or Galaxy team representatives.

I can't even find words to describe how disappointed I am with this attitude.

You could at least say that you are working on it, even if you really don't. Even this simple answer would be much better that two months of absolute silence. But now I don't want any answers. I want my problem to be resolved and my game finally returned to the Galaxy library.

Thank you, I also had this question ! It’s been a while since I last had the Epic launcher on my system, and naively, I expected to be able to install games that don’t absolutely require it

Edit : sorry, I had to rewrite my message because I used an emoji and the forum doesn’t like them :) It only kept the text that was before it. I was going to ask another question because Galaxy wasn’t showing my games on the Epic store at all after linking my account, but it works now

Instantly uninstalled. Only offline exe installers from now on. I'm sure GOG Galaxy used telemetry to collect information but now it will no doubt be even more insidious; EGS is known to be extremely intrusive in terms of information gathering.

Thanks for your input and sharing... Still not working for me though. Not sure if it's perhaps regional (Country) related.
Anyway, will just have to wait it out.

well on my pc it shows the epic installs now aqnd not gog,all gog games show up as "to be installed"until i play them.then they come up on the list.what a BS to me.
well i will not use it not epic nor nother integration, galaxy just ***** ed up my game list.i will continue to play every platform on its own,i have installed over a 100 games on 20 different pcs,and some on a laptop.i renamed all my shortcuts with the platform adding at the end example Fear 2 - Gog,Resident Evil 6 -Steam,The division-Ubi etc that way i know wich launcher to launch.easier for me.i am used to do all "Customized manually" on my pcs,and i work on pcs since the late 80s (windows 3.1 etc.and dos as well)i want the control over my pc,i hate automatisations.i learn by doing it myself.installations never in the default folders ,keeping c-system separate from all the rest just the necessary files to run windows (and the ones that are impossible to change a path) -i never ever lost a single private letter or image, even when switching pcs.anyway good luck to all that integrate other platforms.

I really don't want to use GOG Galaxy anymore..
It is sad to see so many people having trouble when it just works®™ for me. Perhaps that is because I am using Windows 7 (a Good Old Operating System) instead of the fancy new Windows version.

The intergration works without a hitch, even my play time carried over correctly. Thanks for continuing to improve GOG Galaxy and keep up the good work.
Now that games I launched from the shortcut or folder open galaxy anyway where is the difference from other launchers?
I use and like Galaxy. Isn't it just another drm launcher now though?
Thanks
