GenoCL: This is not exactly a question but I guess there's no way to start Steam games without launching Steam's launcher, right?
I mean I understand the limitations of having GOG Galaxy 2 integrate everything but waiting 5 minutes just to have a second launcher being executed is still a drag. I completely understand if there's no way around it.
Other than that, I'm loving GOG Galaxy 2.0 so far. I just wish I didn't have to have two launchers running at once.

DerBesserwisser: Unless its one of the rather few titles on Steam that is DRM-free, yes you will need the steam client as GOG can't just annul Steams DRM
I am assuming same goes for Origin?

thinkedem: Will there be a light theme available soon? The current one is close to impossible to read or use as it makes my eyes hurt after a couple minutes...
I agree. I refuse to use 2.0 because there's no light theme and now they want to force us to "upgrade" to 2.0? I will just uninstall Galaxy and go back to individual installers. Dark themes are too hard to read.
Using Win7Pro and galaxy just auto-updated to 2.0 and I was wondering if there is a way to sort by purchase date which is how galaxy 1 worked for me. Still trying to sort through things and everything else seems to be going fine for now.
Seeing Galaxy 2 is still in beta, I'm hesitant about adding games manually. Is there a risk those might get erased in a future update?
After being auto-updated to 2.0 just now I'm also missing the option to sort by purchase-date, as well as being able to immediately see which Games in the Library received a recent Patch/Update like on the old client.

demonwyrm: I created an entire thread asking these questions before I even noticed this one, so I'll ask here as well. Though, it doesn't seem all that active.

I know we're still in beta, but I'm just wondering about a few features that I can't seem to figure out.

1. Shift + tab doesn't open the client while in game. Is it still limited to select games? Where can I go to change the hotkeys? I can't find it anywhere in the settings.

2. How can I access my profile to change backgrounds? Again, I can't find it anywhere in the settings. I can change my avatar, but I don't see any option to change backgrounds.

3. Is there any way to access a web browser from the client while in game? I'm assuming not yet.

4. I also can't seem to find a way to access the forums from the client, is this also a feature that's not integrated yet?

mechmouse: 4.

There's a work around for this.
In Galaxy, goto "Store Highlights"
Goto a News item at the bottom of page, click on its comments, then navigate to the community page

Once there, click on the bookmark icon.

Not sure why its not integrated as standard yet

UPDATE: While you can post, the post window is Ancored top left and can't be moved. Guess thats why its not implimented as default yet
I just updated to 2.0, and I can't understand where should be the list of the bookmarked pages... for example I see the flag of this page and checked it (now it's totally white), but now ?
Where should I find the bookmark if I want to return to this page ?

EDIT:
I see that if I bookmark a random page game of the store, it appears in the left column, but nothing appears when I bookmark forum pages...

Its what i read on forum.
Battle.net is not an official plugin-that is 100% positive, neither is origin or steam

Nani? Its not some shady information, its written in agreement and other places, no need to act like you beeing tricked or something.
Community integrations are made by community.

Meyniro: Community integrations are made by community.
yes and i didn't realise that.

one would think that something important like "steam" is integrated by professional employes. not some dude in his bedroom.

Well, I think that GOG will be glad to do it officialy, but its not that easy. Its bureaucracy, agreements and other stuff to make, cause Steam needs to willingly agree to let GOG integrate their platform to Galaxy. For now only Microsoft did that, but its just a start, maybe in future we'll get this.

Over the past 3 days I have found at least 5 different threads compllaining about Galaxy 2.0 and wishing they could use Galaxy version 1.X.

So a frequently asked question would be "Can I keep using Galaxy version 1.2?"

If the anwser is no.... Then several of us have decided to play our games without Galaxy. If Galaxy 2.0 becomes a requirement to play our games, then you will have implemented a form of drm.

Edit/update:
I just rechecked and the count has gone over 20 threads of complaints aobut Galaxy 2.0

Um...its not a requirement. You can play without galaxy by simply downloading games. Same as it was before with 1.2.
And I doubt that GOG will ever force us to use Galaxy.
