Heroes of Might and Magic series, Farcry 1&2, Prince of Persia series, Settlers 3, and many more Ubisoft games 50% off, until Tuesday, May 21 at 3:59AM GMT

So, we've heard you like variety. We can relate, everyone loves browsing and picking their favorites. That's why we thought Ubisoft catalog would make for a terrific weekend promo. You can pick and mix from a selection of about 40 [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/ubisoft_weekend_promo_170513]Top Ubisoft Titles, 50% off this weekend. Games of all age, shape, and size await you in the promo page. Whatever your taste in games might be, you'll find something nice and exciting to make your weekend more entertaining. Let's take a quick look at one or two titles, shall we?

Heroes of Might and Magic is a game series so prominent, that it surely needs no introduction. In fantasy turn-based strategies it's quite hard to find a match for this legendary saga that challenges our strategic and management skills since the year 1996. Based on the successful setting of the fan-favorite classic cRPG, Might and Magic, it achieved a great balance between accessibility and complexity that resonates perfectly with gamers. After all these years Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete Edition is still considered by many to be the perfect 4X turn-based title. Some fans, however, prefer the more modern Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Bundle, that takes the beloved mechanics into the beautiful realm of 3D graphics. That's only two titles, though. All of our Might and Magic games, strategy and RPG alike, can be found 50% off in the promo page.

and [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/far_cry_2_fortunes_edition]Farcry 2 introduced a new quality to the First-Person Shooter genre. With large, seamless locations, varied environment, open-ended gameworld, and a healthy dose of realism (just enough to make the combat believable, while keeping it entertaining and fast), it gave the shooter fans the best kind of story-driven sandbox experience. It's also worth noting, that the graphics in both games look excellent even now, years after release. If you enjoy FPS games, these two undoubtedly belong in your GOG.com DRM-free collection.

Right, let's stop here. We don't want to spoil the excitement of discovering what other gems await you in the promo page. Well let you find out that games such as Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, and Rayman Forever are also 50% off this weekend all for yourselves. Ooops. Let's just pretend that didn't happen. You should go to the promo page, now. The promo lasts until Tuesday, May 21 at 3:59AM GMT.

tinyE: I bought two of those games on Wednesday. Anyone have a gun? I need to shoot myself. :P
Let me guess.. Settlers 3? :D

tinyE: I was just curious about popular opinion.

2 and 2 Anniversary. Well I won 2 in the NHL playoff pool but still. I'm downloading the demo for that Settlers HOK game. I know it's only Settlers in name but it still looks really cool but I'm not so sure my system is good enough to run it.

JMich: Why?
Because I like you people and I trust you people and hearing a take on a game in casual on line banter is a lot more dependable than reading a review.

tinyE: Can anyone give me their take on POD and Speed Busters?
POD is a very generic futuristic racer (with futuristic cars, not hover cars like in Wipeout etc.).

Back in the day it was mostly blamed for having a poor feel for speed (it feels all the time you are driving quite slowly), and about some kind of fish eye view effect. But I didn't mind those.

It is ok, but I feel racing games don't generally age too well.
I'm saving money! I'm not buying anything~ Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay~
Nice promo, already have the majority of the games I want, but I'm looking at the Settlers and Warlords: Battlecry series, how are the gameplay and difficulty compared with other RTS series like Age of Empires?

Crosmando: Yeah I noticed the dollar has been weaker against the USD lately, last year I could spend $10 on GOG and it'd be 9.50 in AUD, now it's more like 10.24
I went to check out on an order of US $9.98 and with the current conversion and paypal overhead it was $10.63 wasn't expecting that, I was thinking maybe 10-15 cents. Guess I've been conditioned to a higher Australian dollar.
When I saw "Price of Persia series" in the title I hoped I would see the first two games - the DOS ones. They're not here, sadly. I wish I had those.

I already have 2, picked up 10th anniversary just now and I've got number 5 on disc (and the rest of the series).

My help desk should be open later :D
Excellent promo!

I'm not sure how Warlords: Battlecry compares to all the RTS out there, but I have played Warcraft 1 2 3, War Wind 1 2, and some others. What I can say is that I remember loving Warlords: Battlecry 1, and remember playing it to completion with two different factions. It was an insta-buy for me when it was released here.

JaqFrost: Hmmm. Apart from Beyond Good and Evil, what should someone get...? What are the Prince of Persia games like? Is there any sneaking or some such?
Sands of Time is the charming one with fun interactions between the Prince and the Princess, 1001 Nights atmosphere, a lot of walljumping, normal jumping, timed jumping, and a simplified combat that may get in the way. This is the one I would recommend to any fan of 3D platforming.

Warrior Within is the grim and gritty one. It's God of War-inspired, so it's got more combat and some QTEs. Haven't played it too much.

The Two Thrones is something between the two. The Persian atmosphere returns. There's still a lot of combat but it's more varied, there's some stealthing in order to stab your enemies in the guts (but it's not really required if I remember correctly.) And there's more QTEs. The final fight was silly in this respect. Also, it's story is an attempt to end the trilogy and is rather complicated.

Prince of Persia 2008, I haven't played, but it looks gorgeous, so I'll surely get to it one day.

In the meantime, I'm gonna get me some Panzer General 2. My armchair is ready!

Hooray! The Might and Magic series off my wishlist for $14. 'Tis a good day indeed.
I just checked out the Settlers HOK demo and I love the look and the feel but before I buy can anyone give me a heads up on the SP campaign? I realize it's 90% build and 10% fight and it's is repetitive but is it long or is it something tacked on to a game meant primarily for skirmishes/MP/or both?
