Heroes of Might and Magic series, Farcry 1&2, Prince of Persia series, Settlers 3, and many more Ubisoft games 50% off, until Tuesday, May 21 at 3:59AM GMT

So, we've heard you like variety. We can relate, everyone loves browsing and picking their favorites. That's why we thought Ubisoft catalog would make for a terrific weekend promo. You can pick and mix from a selection of about 40 [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/ubisoft_weekend_promo_170513]Top Ubisoft Titles, 50% off this weekend. Games of all age, shape, and size await you in the promo page. Whatever your taste in games might be, you'll find something nice and exciting to make your weekend more entertaining. Let's take a quick look at one or two titles, shall we?

Heroes of Might and Magic is a game series so prominent, that it surely needs no introduction. In fantasy turn-based strategies it's quite hard to find a match for this legendary saga that challenges our strategic and management skills since the year 1996. Based on the successful setting of the fan-favorite classic cRPG, Might and Magic, it achieved a great balance between accessibility and complexity that resonates perfectly with gamers. After all these years Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete Edition is still considered by many to be the perfect 4X turn-based title. Some fans, however, prefer the more modern Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Bundle, that takes the beloved mechanics into the beautiful realm of 3D graphics. That's only two titles, though. All of our Might and Magic games, strategy and RPG alike, can be found 50% off in the promo page.

and [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/far_cry_2_fortunes_edition]Farcry 2 introduced a new quality to the First-Person Shooter genre. With large, seamless locations, varied environment, open-ended gameworld, and a healthy dose of realism (just enough to make the combat believable, while keeping it entertaining and fast), it gave the shooter fans the best kind of story-driven sandbox experience. It's also worth noting, that the graphics in both games look excellent even now, years after release. If you enjoy FPS games, these two undoubtedly belong in your GOG.com DRM-free collection.

Right, let's stop here. We don't want to spoil the excitement of discovering what other gems await you in the promo page. Well let you find out that games such as Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, and Rayman Forever are also 50% off this weekend all for yourselves. Ooops. Let's just pretend that didn't happen. You should go to the promo page, now. The promo lasts until Tuesday, May 21 at 3:59AM GMT.

JaqFrost: Hmmm. Apart from Beyond Good and Evil, what should someone get...? What are the Prince of Persia games like? Is there any sneaking or some such?
If you like sneaking, go for Tom Clancy Splinter Cell. Really brings out the rogue in you. Loved that game sooo much.

Licurg: How good is Beyond Good and Evil ?
If you like action adventures I can recommend it. The plot, the villain and some of the characters in the game are pretty clichéd, but the heroine and a few of her friends are special and likeable IMO. The graphics are colorful and pleasing to the eye, the soundtrack is nice enough and the gameplay is varied and fun. It involves fighting, sneaking, racing, light puzzle solving, searching for collectables (you earn money for taking photographs of all the different species you meet), and a few minigames. Not as great as Psychonauts, but overall a very good action adventure with some quite original ideas. Definitely worth checking out (unless you're allergic to the genre).

I might get M&M 9 just to complete my collection of the series.

Heard it being compared to Soul Reaver, how accurate is that ?
Good selection of games, but personally I would've preferred 60% off to compensate for Ubisoft already slightly overpricing their games (IMO).
Still, it's a nice sale.

Also Beyond Good & Evil is only like Soul Reaver in as much as it's a third person action adventure.

Mccy_McFlinn: Personally, I recommend Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell - both fantastic games. I know they perhaps lack the heritage of many of the other games on offer, I just don't believe that that should be the case.

Awesome. =) Will check it out. Love sneaking, so any rec in that regard is very welcome!

JMich: Damn it, I have a kickstarter to support, why do you tempt me so?
ok I must know, what project are you backing, I'm behind on my emails again so probably am missing something. :)
Still not a Sierra sale.

I'm sure you've checked out the Thief series then. Might I also recommend Hidden and Dangerous 2, then? It's not on GoG but will be around 10 euros on ebay.

It's such an amazing game.

Also Splinter Cell: Choas Theory is the best in the series so grab a copy of that if you can.

nijuu: Havent heard of that patch.Any good?

Crosmando: Yes but it does make everything smaller via increasing the size of the map. That said, it's way better than playing the game in a streched 800x600 resolution.

Here's some screens of what HoMM3 looks like at higher resolutions:

Excellent, I'll have to try that out with my copy. I was about to say what is it with all the Australians interested in this mod, but we have a German also interested so getting multicultural now :)

Hmm I'll have to think about that one. Bad thing is I spent a lot of money this week and I'm a good week off next pay day. Still won't kill me to put a bit of money there. Though I still haven't played my Jagged alliance games yet, like most of everything else I own.
Amazing promo. Settlers 3 is probably gonna be an instabuy for me. I had the "big box" version years ago and loved it. I never had the expansion or the mission CD though. So this is a bargain.

Crosmando: GOG should really look into getting ~more~ SSI-published games here, Ubisoft owns SSI stuff and most of it really seems to have been held back (afaik the only SSI games on GOG are some Panzer titles and the Imperialism's).
I hope they've been trying to bring Hasbro and Ubisoft together for some of the D&D stuff.

I haven't played Soul Reaver, but based on the screenshots, it seems a bit darker and less varied than BG&E.
