I really enjoyed the first one, but struggled with the interface on the second.
Odd as they weren't that different, but still...

I've got Dark Omen lying on my desk, right in front of me. One of these days I'll bend forward to pick it up and reinstall it...

I would not call me a fan, but I finished both.

I am one of the rare persons finding Dark Omen harder than SOTHR. I had to do the last battle of Dark Omen maybe 10 times before succeding (also because some of the "bosses" I had not killed before where there).

Bought both of these on day 1 of release. Good games. Mark of Chaos was a very good recent follow up.

thing was with Dark Omen (and mark of chaos) seige weapons were too powerful. That's the fault of the warhammer rules mind, they don't lend themselves to scripted games. You just sit there and let your mortars blow the guys apart, and you win.

I have a SOTHR and Dark Omen discs here.
I play Dark Omen often but could never get Shadows of the Horned Rat to work.I am hopping that some day I will find a fix.

I only played Dark Omen and it was a blast, hard but a very good game. I especially liked the multiplayer option where you could build different kind of armies.

Grrrr... Love MOC, what was so bad about it? The other 2 were basically the same with worse graphics.

Same here. I have both of those games (and apparently some others) in some kind of Warhammer collection. I have no idea what the games are like, and even when did I buy the collection.

I had a feeling the strategy element was missing getting best results by just attack moving everything.
The story and characters were also worse, they don't even come close to Bernhart.

TBH I found SOTHR too hard overall, the mission were you have to destroy the orc base by using the mortars was the mission that kept getting me.

I asked about who was afan as earlier today i was playing space marine and it was decent but not a great game like SOTHR or dark omen
