Don't miss our YouTube show featuring the recent releases and promos!

For the past six months we've been publishing our This Week on GOG shows. Yes, that's right--today marks our show's half-anniversary! We're glad that you enjoy our efforts (we know that from your comments) and we appreciate all your witty remarks, helpful suggestions, and continuous support. Whenever you subscribe to our YouTube channel, Mr. A, our Video Ninja, lets out a shriek of joy. Each time you share a TWoGOG episode with your friends via the social media, he dances a little victory dance. Not to mention The Enigmatic T, beaming up with pride every time you comment on his voice acting. Sometimes someone even mentions that the show is well written--that's when tears of joy fill old G-Doc's weary eyes (that's me--your humble writer). Producing This Week on GOG has been challenging, inspiring, and fun for the past 22 published episodes, the 8 never-published test episodes!), the current, 23rd episode, and we sure hope it will stay that way for many more episodes to come. Anyway, here's this week's this week.

So, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers. Also--you'll make us happy! That's it, thanks for watching, don't miss our Telltale Crazy Sale, and see you next Friday!

Fesin: My guess is Two Worlds 2: "The World" is everything - two worlds thus is the double of everything, it's the second game in the franchise, the first game, the publisher and the developer all are already on GOG, and it's rather old by now - although I guess it would definitely be stretching the definition of "classic game".
It seems that GOG considers games from the 360 era to be classic. So yeah, Two Worlds 2 might be it.

Considering this console generation is on its way out by the end of this year (most likely), I guess it kind of makes sense to consider those games from 2011 back "classic games".

Yeah, this, I was going to say pretty much the exact same thing!

It's hardly what I'd call a classic but I'd like to have it here in un-DRMed form. I finished it on the PS3 and enjoyed it for what it was.
While I have nothing to add to the guessing game for next week's classic release, I find it unbelievable that GOG would go so far as to claim that Two Worlds II is a classic game. Overlord was already stretching it a bit too far (but still an interesting addition to the game catalogue). A game released two years ago (time does fly, doesn't it), it just doesn't make the cut and I'm certain the GOG team isn't that cruel.

Alas, still no Albion. I had hopes that the recent batch of Settlers games would move things along, but I am patient and GOG is known to throw curve balls once in a while.
Congrats on the milestone, GOG.

Next week's classic release sounds really big!

While I don't want to comment on the above (either if you guessed correctly or not, nor about the place of a 6-year old game like Overlord in our classic part of the catalog), I just have to say something:

The classic lineup we've prepared for you in May will blow your mind :-) Can't go into further detail, but I just couldn't contain my excitement anymore ;-)

Excellent news! I remember TET mentioning it somewhere that the Spring classic releases will make everyone happy. I'm glad to see that the excitement is shared by both the GOG team and the community alike.

I also have to apologise if my words on Overlord caused any distress. After reading them again, I realised that perhaps a used an adjective too many. Seeing how I joined GOG when Overlord was three years old and considering that most of my best gaming memories come from the pre-2000 era, I have overreacted to Overlord being called a classic. It follows gameplay from some of the other classic games and it fits into the catalogue better than some modern games (at least in my opinion). As such, perhaps it is younger than Dungeon Keeper, but now part of the classics as defined by GOG.

MadalinStroe: Why would the original have to already be on GOG? I didn't get this feeling from watching the video.
Just a hunch, I guess. *shrugs* Well, we'll see soon enough.

May, huh? Now you've got me curious, GOG.

TheEnigmaticT: The 8 never-published test episodes are best NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN. :P

(Like the one where VideoNinja wrote the episode, G-Doc did the voiceovers, and I was the one who edited it. The horrors!)

Fesin: That reminds me of that old bad joke:
Heaven Is Where:
The French are the chefs,
the Italians are the lovers,
the British are the police,
the Germans are the mechanics,
and the Swiss organize everything.

Hell is Where:
The British are the chefs,

the Italians organize everything,
and the Germans are the police

But seriously, we want to see them!
OI! We got a world-class cuisine these days. Fondue and stodge went out with the 70s. Our sparkling wines are regarded nearly as highly as champagne, by all but the French snobs. AND we've got nearly 4 times as many cheeses as they have...without relying on slightly different strains of blue mould!

Okay, so I expect nothing less than Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Revenant and so on... just for starters...

Hopefully one of the "Big 3" remaining companies is still coming. Any of them would bring highly-desired wishlist titles.
