Here's your weekly Message From GOG!

Our mission to gather the most extensive classic games catalog available online continues. Well, you could say it's complete--GOG.com offers the biggest selection of classics already. There's always room for improvement, though, and new milestones to reach. This week, we celebrate making one of them: Wing Commander Series is now complete! We consider it a big win. Here's another: we've reached Friday. And since it's Friday, here's a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on YouTube, so you don't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

This Week on GOG episode 42

That's it from us today, but let's stay in touch over the weekend on our social media channels. Also, remember check out our Spectacular FPS Shootout weekend promo with 21 explosive first-person shooters available 60% off. Have a nice weekend! :-)

Here's the direct youtube link, which seems absent from the news post.

"In this classic title you'll travel through the world of dreams and through of realms that chose to forget the name of god."

Nice job GOG.
Keep it up.
Chose to forget the name of god? That ring a bell? 'cuz I got nothing.
Yeah, we've been getting quite a few Cyro / Microids / Anumen titles recently so I would say you're right

I thought you meant NiGHTS into Dreams for a sec though - Sega confirmed! and all that, oh well...
i hope it's dreams to reality. I probably wouldn't be able to run my old boxed copy of that game
Nice to know GOG are into the idea of completing series - means there's still hope for Settlers 1, Archimedean Dynasty, Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom et al!
If I'm right, I would be really happy to also get the Turkish language for DREAMS into Reality. It was pretty popular here
kult heretic kingdoms perhaps?
Congrats on the Wing Commander completion, GOG! I hope you'll continue to find many more highly-desired classics hidden in big-name publishers' basements. I believe having so many games that are hard to legally get elsewhere + DRM-free (especially releasing formally DRM'd titles) has kept this business alive and thriving.

I was initially thinking of Weird Dreams - http://homeoftheunderdogs.net/game.php?id=1734; maybe GOG or Night Dive cleared up the legal situation.

+1. "[And] new milestones to reach." - shoutout to the SSI AD&D games again. ;)

+1 for your +1's :)

And I agree with you and Fever_Discordia. Lots of series to be completed.

In a lot of ways, I don't want to spend another dime on GOG because of how many games I've purchased here this year. I'm not broke, but my wallet could use the breathing room, and my backlog could easily keep me busy for years with how little time I actually give myself to play games. I own virtually every classic I grew up with, and many, many more.

However, I would like to tie up series, both ones I've yearned for, and ones I partially own.

1.) SSI AD&D Gold Box series
2.) Homeworld series
3.) Mechwarrior series, and even the Mech Commanders
4.) Earthsiege and Starsiege series (including Tribes), and even Earthsiege: Cyberstorm 1 & 2
5.) Civ builder's such as Caesar 1 + 2, and Empire RIse of the Middle Kingdom
6.) Civiliations series
7.) Age of Empires series
8.) Wizardry 1-5
9.) Myst 3 and 4
10.) Drakensang series
11.) System Shock 1
12.) Everything Lucasarts
13.) Settlers 1, and perhaps Settlers VI if it was the complete edition
14.) Rise of Nations and Rise of Legends
15.) Anno series
16.) Crusader Kings series

Odd ball titles include Throne of Darkness, Prince of Qin, Warrior Kings, and various others.

Maybe some of those are on my "likely not any time soon" list, but I don't care. As long as there's a GOG.com that cares about bringing classics back from the afterlife, I don't care how long it takes. I'd be grateful for all, or any of those series coming or being completed.

My continued understanding is that we'll see the SSI AD&D games appear if GOG can bring Ubisoft and Hasbro together to make a deal.

JinseiNGC224: 2.) Homeworld series
Well we've seen minor evidence that Gearbox is apparently interested in bringing the Homeworld games to Steam and GOG, if not even other places, so I suspect we'll see those here - at least 1 - in the first half of next year.

3.) Mechwarrior series, and even the Mech Commanders
7.) Age of Empires series
Microsoft - hopefully your belief about getting a whiff of them coming is true, and will happen sooner than later. ;)

4.) Earthsiege and Starsiege series (including Tribes), and even Earthsiege: Cyberstorm 1 & 2
A lot of this seems like it might be under Activision's control, and if most of these games have Glide capabilities, I don't see why they couldn't show up (unless the "Metaltech/Earthsiege universe" was licensed out elsewhere, or is otherwise complicating things).

Course, you know there are MANY more Sierra games that could appear, we just have to figure out what is holding Activision back. :P

5.) Civ builder's such as Caesar 1 + 2, and Empire RIse of the Middle Kingdom
Fo shizzle, more Sierra/Activision.

6.) Civiliations series
Take 2, I believe.

8.) Wizardry 1-5
11.) System Shock 1
9.) Myst 3 and 4
I'd look to Night Dive to handle these, although Myst 3 and 4 might take GOG using their connections at Ubisoft.

12.) Everything Lucasarts
Perhaps, and a big perhaps, EA getting in with Disney will be good for GOG eventually. Maybe Paul Barnett or Jeff Skalski will be able to get to chatting with Disney about LucasArts backlog.

13.) Settlers 1, and perhaps Settlers VI if it was the complete edition
There seems to be some hiccups with the Blue Byte backlog, namely Albion. I suspect with Settlers 2 here GOG doesn't feel much need to bring 1, but it would definitely be nice to complete the series.

That's just me going through most of the list in a hurry; others can correct my inaccuracies and make their own speculations. ;) *cue Megarock appearing after LucasArts*

One of the first PC game I ever bought. And my CDs are probably unreadable now :D
Black & White next week?
