It's been posted on the Kickstarters thread, but I feel that Sui Generis deserves its own thread.

The engine on this action RPG is incredibly impressive. I've seen other game Kickstarters with better art, story, etc. but what this single guy achieved with the engine is pretty incredible IMO, and I trust that this attention to detail will also be applied to the world and story.
That engine does look impressive, and the fights look so dynamic that it actually starts feeling weird when guys get hit with a sharp thing and get knocked away :p
It'd be a pretty boring game if sharp things cut off your limbs, though, so it's very understandable.
sui generis indeed!
The video is really impressive but I hope the animations aren't final yet because the fights look like the combatants have drunk a little to much. ^^
Question.Seems like this KS is in pounds and also asks for the CC details directly when trying to pledge. I thought all these kickstarters went through amazon payments?
Wow. Me likey!
I'll be keeping an eye on this one!

Kickstarter is using its own system for the UK. Amazon is only used for the US based projects. My guess is that moving forward Kickstarter will transition to this system for everything, and open up more countries.

Possible that is how real fencing looked like :-)

3) Difficult one. Originally we had a stamina system to this effect, characters would tire and become slower and had to recover from exertions. At some point we decided this was more tedious than fun and just removed it completely. Realism is important but fun takes precedence. Some of our animations are also very bad, they need some work.
The game still has a long way to go, this is really more a tech demo than anything else.
Constantinopolis
Sui Generis;
The saints and emperors
Of bygone centuries;
The manmade birds in the trees
Outload their paean rings;
Immortality.

Immediately got Turisas playing in my head (and my music player). The project itself seems promising. Even if not all of these succeed, it gives a clear message as to what people want to do as opposed to what will sell the most. Will be monitoring, but it does seem really ambitious.

Yeah, I think their reliance on Amazon payments was the reason they were US only at first.
The main features of this RPG are ones that I usually download mods for in other games. Too early to allow myself excitement, but definitely one of the more interesting KSers I've seen.

Actually, that's how you really fight if you swing a five kilogram piece of steel (or two). Try it. And put all your force behind the swing. You'd be surprised how rag-doll you'll feel after a few swings, especially after you missstep a few times and get tired. Just be safe and do it in the backyard or something.

The lighting makes surface textures look simply fantastic. Like what the Frostbyte engine does to the Battlefield games. Needs better character animations as the hero looks like he's gliding across the floor and not walking on it. But the lighting is sooo impressive making the whole world look natural/organic.
