The ghost hunt begins anew!

Dark Fall: The Journal and Dark Fall 2: Lights Out, two gripping horror adventure games sporting a thick atmosphere with more than just a hint of ectoplasm, are returning to GOG.com today, for only $5.99 each.

Ghosts, apparitions, spirits--whether you see them or not, they're a part of our world just like the forces of nature, economy, and your postman. In most cases, they're separated from the mundane realm by a thin, yet impenetrable veil. There are some places, however, where the veil is thinner, and there are some people who can see through it. All. The. Time. If you're not one of these people, be thankful. Strange things happen around those with psychic abilities. The mere presence of such people throws the reality off balance. Sometimes, the other side pushes against the barrier so hard, that the worlds collide without a medium present. Some places break down under the pressure and become permanently haunted. In such places the mundane logic becomes suspended, and the realm of the strange and terrifying opens before humans. These games tell of such events and places.

Dark Fall: The Journal and Dark Fall 2: Lights Out are a shining example of paranormal activity-focused storytelling in gaming. Each of the games tells a gripping story in which the protagonist becomes involved in events that go far beyond our mundane understanding of the world. They create a first-person perspective experience that masterfully captures the eerie atmosphere of a ghost hunt, where the presence of strange forces feel very real and close. With immersive story and many intriguing puzzles these games should satisfy anyone looking for some chill-inducing adventure. Both games were available on GOG.com in the past, but had to be temporarily excluded from our catalog. Now, they're back to haunt you, and you'll enjoy it if they do.

Dark Fall: The Journal and Dark Fall 2: Lights Out eluded us for some time, but now they came back from the gaming limbo and we have them locked in our GOG.com proton pack, ready to bring them directly to your drive for only $5.99 each.

keeveek: Is there any chance of seeing Director's Cut version of Dark Fall 2?

Thiev: New version is the DC version.
So in case I want to try out the non-DC version (like because some puzzles are supposed to be a bit harder on it, and some other changes), I should keep the earlier Dark Fall 2 installer around on my hard drive? (I downloaded it already earlier months ago.)

That's great to hear! I think you should update your gamecard then, because the differences are pretty significant, and for some people it may be the selling point. :)

thanks for the info!
I don't think these games are actually very good, but it's always nice to get back removed games, of course.
So we just hit 600 games. I think that's a cause for celebration...

Wooooo :D
Great to see more horror games on GOG.
Shame I already had those :)

Glad to see these back, have been mooting buying them elsewhere, but naturally prefer GOG.

Any chance they will become a perma-bundle like other GOG series games?

why not include the original as a bonus download?

JudasIscariot: If you do own them from before, check your accounts as we have put up new installers for both games :)

sqlrob: FYI, they're not showing up as changed on "My Account"

Are any of the extras new?
The installers are definitely the new versions. Dark Fall v2.0.0.6 and Dark Fall 2 v2.0.0.51 (GOG version numbers not the developers). I suspect they won't show up as changed because according to the system they're probably considered "new" due to their thankfully brief absence.

No new extras. Manuals and soundtracks are the same as before.
Nice to see the legal issues are resolved and the games are back on GOG!
Please add the original Dark Fall 2 as a bonus download. I bought Dark Fall 2 on GOG back before it was removed (and when it was the original version), and as someone who played both when they were originally released, I really prefer the original version by far over the so-called "Director's Cut."

I'm glad to see the legal issues resolved to get the games back on GOG, but please please please let me redownload the original Dark Fall 2 that I love. I don't have the old installer saved anywhere at the moment and my original copy went missing years ago.
Edit: Thanks to Nordic Games for somewhat clarifying the return of Dark Fall.

undeadcow: It's interesting to see these re-releases still attributed to Nordic Games. Originally the developer cried foul claiming he was not being paid for his product and that Nordic Games has no right to distribute so GOG pulled these as an act of good faith. I guess this indicates the developer didn't have his facts straight and that Nordic was valid... that or GOG just decided to re-list these on the prior basis despite developer claims.
Or both parties found an agreement to work together, solve the issues they had and brought the titles back online (as mentioned on my post above ;) )

I previously missed that; great news to see all parties working together. Thank you for clarifying and blunting my cynicism.

Good news to hear. I also congratulate you getting rights from THQ.
