Hey, Babe! You know what they say about games with long titles, right?

Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded, the modern remake of the original naughty adventure featuring Larry Laffer, updated with sleek cartoony graphics, new puzzles, new activities, and new objects of romantic conquest, is available on GOG.com for only $19.99.

So, the guy walks into my bar, and it takes me exactly five seconds to look at him and decide he's a hopeless shmock. I've seen many middle-aged guys trying to get lucky in my part of town on a Saturday night. "Lefty's" does have a reputation, after all. But this guy--I just instantly knew he was a special kind of sorry loser. Dressed in a generic white polyester suit, gold chain around his neck, silly hairdo barely distracting the attention from his shiny bald spots, five feet tall, and the look of a rutting buck in his eyes. The moment he walks in, he fixes his sights on the closest female target, comes by, says maybe five words tops, and gets slapped on the mug. "Show's over", I think to myself. But no. Get this, the guy just turns around smiles like an idiot, and hits on another chick. Let me tell you this, man, if you don't have the looks, and don't smell like cash, you need to be persistent. By the time he left, I felt both sorry for him and admired him at the same time. Well, I mostly felt sorry for him, but that doesn't make for an interesting story. Ready for another beer?

Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded takes one of the most memorable adventure games of all times and gives it a total makeover to add some modern--yet conservative--bells and whistles. You'll get to play through the entire original story, now presented in hand-drawn 2D cartoony graphics (not unlike the art-style of Larry 7: Love for Sail), and accompanied by a great new orchestrated version of the soundtrack. On top of that, the new version comes with new puzzles, mini-games, activities, and--most importantly--new women for Larry Laffer to woo. Isn't that exciting? Very exciting? Dare we say: arousing?

Let the smelly yellow cab drop you off in front of the famous Lefty's Bar once again--or perhaps for the first time ever--in Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded, for only $19.99 on GOG.com!

Yes, I can confirm that the game on GoG supports the same languages as the Steam version.
I bought it full price cause I think Mr. Lowe deserves the cash ; ) Is it really true that he's planning to remake the other games, and finally make Larry 8: Lust in Space? It could also be funny to see his take on the two other Larrys, but I guess he tries to forget their existence ; P
Thx to @Briannon and @WordsOfMagic fpr clearifing, that GOG has the same language support as the STEAM version.
:)
This makes a clear deal for the GOG version for me :) No DRM and not messing around with internet connection, auto-update (well I know; u CAN play STEAM games offline and turn off auto-update and I have al lot of games there, no need for discussion here.)
But having a accessable digital copy without restrictions and the support from GOG is just a fine thing.
Instant buy ;)

@Briannon: What u wrote about non accurate translations of games into german I totally agree.
But I'm the "lazy guy": sometimes bad translation will do the job better for me than using a dictionary while playing in english. School is out for a long time for me and at work I need english very seldom. (As u can actually see here: bad style and errors, I think)
And if there's a choice for multi-lingual versions or only english version, I normally appreciate the multi-lang version ;)

just my 2c

EDIT: just bought it. I confirm that german subtitles are avvailable. Now playing :)

Your english looks exellent to me.
Sure there are some errors and mistakes but nothing much.
The worst thing people can do is being afraid to speak, read or write english out of fear making mistakes then the world woud probably not go forward seing that English is one of the world languages and is in use in a lot of locations over the world in some way or another.

Also worth noting is that sometimes the orginal meaning or point gets lost in the translation
ive found that sometimes the word or sentance is better understood in the orginal language than the translated one.
But i can undertand the sentiment of being lazy though
sometimes i just want chill out time not bothering to browse trhu dictionarys.

StarEye: The good old CTRL-ALT-X still works, apparently. And unlike in the original game, you only have to answer the questions right once per new game. When you load in an old save, you don't need to answer the questions.

I'm kinda glad they kept it, but the questions could be a little less America-centric.
I got a few wrong, and I'm as fully American as an immigrant at an early age can be. Fortunately, we can alt-TAB out and Google any of the more obscure trivia, something we couldn't do back when the first several LSL games and remake were made.
Looks like I'll have to buy it on steam as I need the Linux version. Too bad, gog.
Oh looks like I'm well behind on checking up on my kickstarter projects, since I backed this one I must have a copy waiting for download for me somewhere. So behind with my emails.

I'll probably buy a copy anyway on GOG when on a special, in a Larry kind of spread the love way

To the best of my knowledge, the plan is to remake LSL 1-7 then create an honest to goodness brand spanking (and I DO mean spanking *wink wink*) new Larry game. If that were to happen then my faith in humanity might be restored... partially, anyway.

You can buy versions for all platforms directly on their website also:

On, and the steam linux version is drm free. The windows steam version is not. The versions bought on the website are also drm free (at least they are for me, as a backer).

I'd recommend non kickstarters who are only interested in playing on windows (why no mac version here I don't know). I'd recommend via GOG. The MSI installer from the developer is crap. It needs a certain amount of free C: space before it will even run (my system is partitioned so games go to D: and c: has little free after the OS).

Even when I got enough space freed for the installer to run, and selected D:\ for the install it bitches that there is not enough space I have 88GB free on D:. However it appears it still requires 1474MB on C:, I assume for the full extraction of game files before putting them on the game install location.

So basically I can't even install this bloody game I backed. GOG installers are good that they do not require a large temp area on C:\ just to install to another location, that is one reason I shop at GOG over other retailers such ad dotemu etc.

Neilk40: Really looking forward to the 3rd one Leisure Suit Larry 3: Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals being remade, still my favourite of the series.

The boxed copy of the game is wonderful, it has an instruction manual that resembles a tourist brochure and cleverly has advertisements that give you clues in the game.

Love the Nontoonyt island setting and the music playing in the background is so soothing.

Wished they skipped the second which wasn't anywhere as good as the 3rd.
I think the 2nd one was great. You went to so many different locations with the KGB and Dr Nonookee's henchmen constantly on your heels. You never knew what to expect next and you constantly moved forward and had new locations to explore.

In the 3rd installment you returned to the same locations again and again while trying to figure out that you had to sharpen a knife on the concrete doorsteps of the hotel. Plus I personally felt that playing as Patty for the second half of the game didn't add much to the LSL experience. You're suddenly playing as a hot babe with no flaws except for a crush on Larry? I want to play as geeky Larry!

It's still better than 5 though. That one was really strange. And then 6 was amazing again, as was 7.
If i get paid to next week to cut the grass ill buy this so i can install it on my bedroom pc living room entertainment center and laptop for the price of one. Not like other DRM games need 3 accounts and pay 180 dollars for all devices. Thanks a ton for bringing an awesome game to support this awesome site

LSL2 is the remake I'm waiting for the most. The plot offers some great possibilites for expansions consifering KGB and Nonooke. And the game itself could turn pretty different when all the dead ends and bad design choices are removed.

LSL3 doesn't have that huge redesign needs, while LSL5 could beneift from some expansions, as it's short and pretty easy game. 6 and 7 don't need to be remade that badly, especially 7 could turn out worse, if they don't get an animator capable of doing the same caliber animation the game has.
I wonder if the remakes are successful if we'll (finally) get Larry 4? Al always claims it was his favourite, so he's bound to want to remake it...

It's better left as an in-joke for the series. What I really want is Lust in Space (LSL 8).
