Nibbling at time itself.

Ethan: Meteor Hunter, a very challenging, but nonetheless adorable puzzle-platformer with a cool telekinetic twist that lets you stop time and remotely manipulate the objects around you, is available on GOG.com, for only $9.99.

Do you like to take your platformers with extra challenge, crafty puzzles, sleek graphics, and adorable characters? Ethan: Meteor Hunter has you covered! Ethan is but a small mouse, but his special powers are nothing short of exceptional. The little guy can pause time and remotely manipulate the objects around him. That gives him at least some chance against all the devious traps this fantastic puzzle platformer's 50 levels are filled with. You can approach the game in many different ways, simply finding the easiest way to complete each stage, trying to collect all the pick-ups, or aiming at the smallest number of telekinetic manipulations needed to get through a level. That allows each player to find the level of challenge he feels best with, in this masterfully crafted game of reflexes and wits.

Guide one exceptional mouse through many dangerous ordeals and find out how telekinesis and time manipulation affect the gameplay of a platformer in Ethan: Meteor Hunter, for only $9.99 on GOG.com.

Many of these indie titles are already released in elsewhere or can be found on the Steam Greenlight section .

gandalf.nho: Same here, looks the majority of the indie devs only want to make hard games...
avatar
nijuu: Would you prefer them to be too easy? :P
I want to have fun with the games I play, not being frustrated with the difficulty. I know many gamers love hard games, but isn't my case

deonast: Yes the google translate does interesting things with those. By chance I accidentally left off the 'i' from ich on the first one and it translated with a lot more sense, add the i on and google is on a completely different station :)
avatar
BreOl72: Had to try that...hell, yes - it makes definitely more sense, than the version with "i"... *lol*
Seems that the pronoun "I" ("ich", that is, just so you're not thinking I'm speaking about the letter "i" only) confuses Google and it decides to translate the sentence word-by-word, while without the pronoun it translates the meaning (or something similar at least - "ch", of course, doesn't translate at all).

real.geizterfahr: I don't mind. We probably have the choice between more indie platformers or nothing (vote for nothing!)... I just don't get overly excited when I see the weekly platformer release (I know that I'm exaggerating) and I understand everyone who starts to hate those games.

SCPM: Actually, Nothing is also an indie platformer:

Completely off the topic of this release but I had to laugh at that :-)

tapeworm00: ... and that's good, I suppose? If your point is that there's too many platformers, well, there's like 80 RPGs and like 100 strategy games in the catalogue, and no one complains about that. Just leave it be, man, you'll get your game someday. Let the people who enjoy these releases do so.

ne_zavarj: But why the fuck do we have to face more than one indie release per week instead of the classics ?
Well, maybe because there are many new indie games being made and they all like to be featured in the place, where there are potential fans and market for it (i.e. here). Plus, indie developers are here now and they need sales to be able to continue what they do - classics comes usually from defunct companies and money usually do go to right holder pocket´s, not to creators

But most important of all: They (GOG) haven´t forgot about the classics, they are releasing them at steady rate, why is this a problem?
Looks fun but I don't think I have the skills to get through both physics puzzles and platformer / twitch gameplay at the same time.

As to all the griping, well, gOg just brought us another developer willing to go DRM-free right at release. Kudos to both!

BadDecissions: And now it's available here DRM free. Good.
Exactly. One more developer that appears to 'get it'. Regardless of the type of game, I see that as a good thing for all of us.
It is probably just me, but that looks awfully lot like Unity demo.
Doesn't look bad by any means, but like others I'm getting a little fatigued by the genre. Don't get me wrong I like these kind of games, but this one will have to wait for a sale at the very least for me.

That's what happens when two indie platformers are trying to vie for my attention. The Swapper clearly and utterly wins. For now. ;)
If we can have tons of great classic point-and-click adventures, I don't see why we can't have lots of great indie platformer/puzzle games. I do hope for more RPG's in the future, classic, indie, and others.

I bought this game. It looks great!
That is one seriously multilingual game. 18 languages? Wow.

I love it when we have that many languages to display :)
